14:30 Project Dante

We definitely will want a little bit of rain for PROJECT DANTE to be at his best, but the forecast looks as if it will come in his favour. He travelled like much the best when winning on his racecourse debut at York and the form around him is rock solid, with plenty of winners coming out of that contest. Added to that, he looks to be drawn on the favourable part of the track in a high stall position and that’s a bonus.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

15:05 One Ruler

We will give ONE RULER one more roll of the dice, as we can’t be following him over the cliff anymore. But, with the likely red-hot favourite Mohaafeth re-routed to this contest from the Derby and wanting the rain to stay away, it may just swing conditions in our favour with a selection who wants rain. Take the early price with Paddy and start doing the rain dance!

15:40 Noon Star

NOON STAR was building an impressive profile, but slightly fluffed her lines at York last time behind Snowfall when she refused to settle and did well in the circumstances to be only beaten by 3-and-a-half lengths. The winner has gone on to prove that form is top class in no uncertain terms. Noon Star can get herself back on track here thanks to her excellent, patient handler Sir Michael Stoute after missing the Oaks at Epsom.

16:15 Stradivarius

STRADIVARIUS needs no introduction whatsoever and seems to be as good as ever at the age of seven.  If the rain arrives Alan King’s Trueshan could possibly make the race more exciting, but he just lacks the change of gear late on of Stradivarius. If the rain stays away from the Berkshire track, this will be a straightforward affair.

Tactical James Doyle The Windsor Castle Stakes Ascot June 17, 2020

17:00 Akmaam

AKMAAM broke his maiden at this trip over 7 furlongs on his racecourse debut and then dipped his toe into Group 3 company at Newmarket behind some top-level performers. He was quietly fancied for his return in a 2000 Guineas trial again at Newmarket, but after that disappointment he has been re-routed and has dropped back down into handicap company. Akmaam has the blinkers and he’s drawn up against the fence, so he’s worth a shot at a nice each-way price.

17:35 Siskany

SISKANY is a rapidly improving three-year-old and he goes in here looking for the four-timer on what looks a very lenient handicap mark of just 96. He is very flexible as regards tactics and the ground, so whichever way it goes, it will not be a problem. He is also completely unexposed at the trip, so he is ticking a lot of boxes.

18:10 Lord Campari

LORD CAMPARI is dropped back into handicap company after being very highly tried in the early stages of his career. Yet again the rain should play in his favour, as well as being drawn again up in the high numbers – which have been embarrassingly favoured throughout the meeting. Andrea Atzeni did us a favour in the early stages of the Royal meeting, and he can get another one on the board in the lucky last.

Jason Weaver’s tips summary:

14:30 Project Dante
15:05 One Ruler
15:40 Noon Star
16:15 Stradivarius
17:00 Akmaam
17:35 Siskany
18:10 Lord Campari
