I’m sure Twilight Gleaming has to be respected but I like YET. She was impressive at Dundalk, got back up to beat Orinoco River and will have improved for it.

15:05 – Arturo Toscanini

ARTURO TOSCANINI ran a really good race in the Gallinule Stakes over a mile-and-a-quarter at the Curragh behind Earlswood. There was a lot to like that day. It looked like the trip was too sharp, rallied again in the last furlong and stayed really well. He looked like a horse crying out for a bit further.

15:40 – Queen Power

Lady Bowthorpe beat QUEEN POWER by a head at Newmarket in May but she was flattered behind Palace Pier in the Lockinge Stakes and you can get sucked in reading form that literally at times. I’d be willing to forgive Queen Power for the head defeat to Lady Bowthorpe and she’ll turn it around.

16:20 – Love

I’m a massive LOVE fan. She was brilliant at Newmarket, Epsom and York last year. She’s just very good and is the up-and-coming one. Lord North will want all that rain that is forecast but he’ll want it as early as possible if he’s going to beat Love.

17:00 – Path Of Thunder

I wonder what will happen if PATH OF THUNDER gets in. He’s No. 31 which means he’s first reserve. He was second at Newbury behind Ascension on his last start so I would fancy Path Of Thunder if he gets in.

17:35 – Admiral D (E/W)

I know Michael O’Callaghan spent a few quid on a lot of two-year-olds and ADMIRAL D won at Listowel on his last start.

18:10 – So I Told You

Do we really need another mile handicap at Ascot? SO I TOLD YOU bolted up in two runs at Sligo both over a mile-and-a-quarter with Dylan McMonagle in the saddle on both occasions. She’s gone up a long way in the ratings but I wouldn’t be surprised if she ran a good race coming back down in trip.
