13:50 Blue Cable

The answer to this open contest could be BLUE CABLE. Michael Attwater’s filly is a 6f winner who might not have been ideally suited by soft ground last time at Bath, when she was not without support. A sound surface here might be the key to a first turf success. Nibras Shadow was back in better form last time and could emerge as her chief rival, while Twice As Likely and Pedestal are others who can get competitive.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

14:25 Cotai Hero

A tough race to call, with so little experience to go on. One who has that is Top Exhibit, who could come on plenty for his first outing, when his starting price suggested that better was expected. He is not ruled out but could be vulnerable to a newcomer. Manettino looks likely to show up well first time but the suggestion is COTAI HERO, whose dam won over this trip at two and whose trainer saddled a recent debut 2yo winner.

15:00 Flying Standard

Tom Marquand’s mount Critique ran well when placed off today’s mark on Tapeta two weeks ago and is respected but it might pay to give another chance to FLYING STANDARD, who struggled to cope with softish ground over C&D three weeks ago but made good progress on AW last summer/autumn and made a promising reappearance in April. Mahanakhon Power is third on the list.

15:35 Mustazeed (NAP)

This looks a good opportunity for MUSTAZEED (nap), who was a close third over 8.6f on his handicap debut three weeks ago and promises to be suited by today’s extra distance. Stigwood has a point to prove after a poor performance but his run at Windsor two starts ago was quite promising and he is second choice, ahead of Alaskan Lady.

16:05 Rabat

Qurtajana is back in a maiden after a good effort on her handicap debut and ought to play a major role but there should be some improvement from RABAT, who shaped with significant promise when placed over 6f on her debut at Redcar. Danni California has been placed at Newmarket on her first two starts and should also go well.

Yarmouth

16:40 Secret Moment

Foreseeable Future went down fighting off today’s mark here eight days ago and ought to make his presence felt again but the one with most potential is Godolphin’s well-bred 4yo SECRET MOMENT, who wasn’t given a hard time once held in a 7f AW novice on his recent seasonal debut and now moves back up in trip for his handicap debut.

17:10 Glen Esk

The answer could be GLEN ESK, who makes his seasonal debut from a workable mark and ought to be suited by today’s return to a sound surface. Dramatica and the more obvious Thomas Lanfiere should also be competitive.
