18:15 – Perfect Power

Richard Fahey’s PERFECT POWER shaped like a surefire future winner when doing his best work late in the day at Newcastle and he’s preferred to Come Quick, whose second run has been a while in coming.

18:45 – Paddyplex

Preference is for PADDYPLEX after his two solid runs here recently, latterly when a stronger pace would have suited him. Corndavon Lad has sound claims in his current vein of form and Coviglia is another for the shortlist.

19:15 – Jupiter Road

Of the recent winners, Euro Implosion is just preferred to Hot Team after going up just the 3lb. One who might beat them both is JUPITER ROAD, who rallied well to finish third at Redcar and this longer trip is worth the gamble. Tanqeeb may also have a say.

19:45 – Out The Hat

With some rain forecast it could pay to chance OUT THE HAT returning to his useful 2yo form, on which he’s well handicapped. This is very open despite the small field but The Gloaming is second choice with this extra furlong expected to benefit her.

20:15 – Abel Handy

None of these are frequent winners nowadays, making for a tricky race to predict. A chance is taken that ABEL HANDY is revitalised sufficiently by first-time cheekpieces to take advantage of a drop in the weights. Call Me Ginger, a good second over C&D two outings ago, is an obvious alternative.

20:45 – Guardia Svizzera

Thrilla In Manila is all speed and his finishing kick might be blunted by this stiff finish, especially if conditions soften. He might be worth taking on with GUARDIA SVIZZERA who ran his best race for ages here last month.
