13:45 Hachert (NAP)
Let’s Go Lucky has enjoyed a good spring on Polytrack and is the obvious starting point on last Monday’s Chelmsford second off the same mark, with the return to 7f in her favour, but a course record reading 519487989 isn’t the most inspiring at a likely short price. Maharashtra is less exposed than most, having spent the early part of his career pulling hard over further, but HACHERT (nap), a turf scorer off a 4lb higher mark last summer, looks the one to be on for a yard among the winners lately.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
14:20 Arlo’s Sunshine
A half-brother to several winners, including two on Tapeta, ARLO’S SUNSHINE will be suited by the drop from 1m down another 3lb and looks a sporting bet against the more obvious candidates, headed by Rockesbury who ran well last Monday when back from a break. Fact Or Fable, who’s in form, fairly treated and usually gives his running over C&D, is another to consider.
14:55 Manhattanville
Today’s stiffer test will suit MANHATTANVILLE and Sharp Combo, who both started among the favourites when finding an easy 6f too sharp before picking up late in different divisions of a Redcar novice three weeks ago. Modern Artist too will relish the extra distance off the back of a pleasing debut at a big price over 5f, while Doves Cry is perhaps the most interesting newcomer on numbers alone, with George Boughey boasting an outstanding 45% strike-rate with 2yos this season and the in-form Mark Crehan having recently lost his 5lb claim after a good spell.
15:30 Tantastic
The cheekpieces have made a difference with TANTASTIC, who chased home a useful winner over C&D in them early last month before a solid handicap effort on soft turf 12 days ago. He gets 2lb from the penalised filly Rita The Cheetah, who’s returning from a break, and is unlikely to be found a better opening. A few of the others, notably Doussard who’s taking another drop in trip, will need to be sharper at the start.
16:05 Highest Ambition
An unlucky loser over C&D last backend, when heavily supported off a similar mark, HIGHEST AMBITION’s turf comeback effort can be ignored on account of pulling hard on soft ground and he should do much better back on Tapeta. Signora Princess overcame a slow start from a wide draw when winning on her 5f comeback two months ago and is a threat, as is The Waterman, whose three useful siblings Forgive, Loki’s Revenge and Right Touch all improved with age.

16:40 Envega
Kalma and ENVEGA are similar types who both finished third over 1m2f at Nottingham last time out and give the impression they’ll benefit from this longer distance. It could go either way but Envega is narrowly preferred with her reappearance under her belt. Ladywood, who should be suited by the return to AW, may fare best of the remainder.
17:10 Live Your Dream
Having missed 18 months and been gelded, LIVE YOUR DREAM has progressed nicely this spring and has stamina in his pedigree, with his dam a half-sister to a winning stayer. The keen-going The Olympian has suffered with his breathing and broken a blood vessel in two runs back from an absence, so doesn’t come without risk, and Margaret Dumont may prove a bigger threat.
17:40 Diamond Jill
The 4yo filly DIAMOND JILL finished nicely under Richard Kingscote to open her account here 15 days ago and is taken to defy a 4lb rise. Second choice is Pearly Prince, who ties in closely with the selection on that form. Forus is third choice, ahead of Beyond Infinity and Clipsham Tiger.
