17:15 – Tribal Art

Water Iris has leading claims on last year’s AW form but her two efforts on turf in 2021 haven’t been of the same standard. Cedar Rapids (second choice) and Life On The Rocks have shown a fair level of ability and may have more to offer but a chance is taken on Mark Johnston’s well-bred TRIBAL ART, who showed clear promise once he grasped what was required on his AW debut last backend. Confidence in him would be increased should the market vibes be strong.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

17:45 – Jaariyah

Pearl Of Qatar is the most likely of these to give her running but last week’s Catterick effort suggests the handicapper has her about right for the time being so she’s opposed with JAARIYAH, who is the sole runner on the card for Lamborn trainer Archie Watson. This 4yo may have found the run coming a bit soon just a week on from her reappearance when folding tamely at Wolverhampton in March and is worth another chance for her new stable back from a 73-day break.

18:15 – Tricorn

Cheekpieces have rejuvenated the once-useful TRICORN who absolutely bounded clear up the hill at Hamilton Park a fortnight ago. With a solid back catalogue of form, a subsequent 6lb rise in the weights is arguably neither here nor there. Iain Jardine’s charge can maintain his unbeaten record at Ayr (1-1) at the expense of Zeimaam, who is also viewed as a type likely to draw benefit from the application of headgear.

18:45 – Modular Magic

A case can be made for all of these but MODULAR MAGIC stands out as one who could have more to offer after only six starts, and a debut success (on a fast surface) shows he can go well fresh so he’s the suggestion. Tanasoq is put up for the forecast spot.

19:15 – Bringitonboris

Course specialist Tommy G (who has related form with Midnite Bride) steps up in grade seeking a quickfire hat-trick. With the early pace likely to be set by the free-going Challet the focus switches to a couple of perennial fast-finishers. John Ryan’s Catch My Breath is 2-2 here (under Darragh Keenan), while Keith Dalgleish’s C&D scorer BRINGITONBORIS would also be a major threat if able to bounce back to peak form.

19:45 – Motawaazy

Plenty are swiftly dismissed, so this race isn’t anywhere near as competitive as the numbers would suggest. Tukhoom and Lagenda enter calculations on the basis of previous Ayr form, while the feasibly weighted Lofty is arguably more interesting. Nevertheless, it’s difficult to look beyond the improving MOTAWAAZY (nap) who has twice shown a pleasing attitude since joining Michael Dods, including latterly in first-time cheekpieces at Catterick last week.

20:15 – Justified

It would be no surprise were Let Me Be to bounce back to form with a bang but today’s likely ground is an unknown so he’s opposed with JUSTIFIED, who ran well at Ripon last week. Three Castles could provide the main threat in first-time cheekpieces.
