17:30 – El Picaro

This may not take a great deal of winning and it looks a good opportunity for EL PICARO to get off the mark. He has looked progressive in his first three starts and may only need to repeat his latest effort to take this. Tommaso ran much better than the market suggested he would on debut and is entitled to make his presence felt if building on that, while Arkaig Treasure looks the pick of the newcomers and is worth monitoring in the market.

18:00 – Iron Sheriff

An open affair. Slight preference is for IRON SHERIFF, who is heading in the right direction for his new stable and ran well in a higher grade last time. Second choice is Maximum Risk, ahead of Sugarpiehoneybunch who ties in with that rival on Beverley form ten days ago. My Boy Charles also enters calculations judged on his latest effort, while several others are potential improvers. Leicester winner Katie’s Kitten may find things harder in this bigger field.

18:30 – Arranmore

The two last-time-out winners are entitled to respect, but there is a question mark over the trip for both with Gulf Of Poets possibly needing further and Six Strings yet conclusively to prove he stays this far. It may therefore be worth giving another chance to ARRANMORE, who didn’t run to market expectations when well behind Six Strings on his stable debut at Catterick but enjoys a healthy pull at the weights and may benefit from the first-time hood. Viva Voce is another to keep an eye on.

The return to this trip looks to be to the benefit of Finally Mine, while the extra distance should suit the unexposed Real Terms on her handicap/turf debut. However, despite her moderate strike-rate ENGLES ROCK looks the one to beat having found only a progressive 3yo just too strong at Ayr last time.

19:35 – September Power

Much may depend on whether Pepper Street can transfer her recent good hurdling form back to the Flat as she would have a good chance if she can, albeit fast ground would be a question mark. Baladio could go well despite being a 16-race maiden but this looks a good chance for SEPTEMBER POWER to make a winning return. She has stamina to prove but her top stable is likely to have her ready and she remains unexposed.

20:05 – Bailarico

Any market confidence behind Pour Joie would be interesting on this second start since wind surgery, while Tinsmith would hold each-way claims at least if transferring his creditable recent AW efforts back to turf. However, the fairly useful hurdler BAILARICO (nap) looks fascinating back on the Flat from what looks a favourable mark. All five of his wins over 1m6f-2m in this sphere have come on good or faster ground.
