Tony Carroll is responsible for a quarter of the field, with Blue Venture looking the pick of them, but this can go to GLAMOROUS FORCE (nap), who gave away more ground at the start than he was beaten when a clear second on Tuesday. The well-handicapped Aquadabra likes it here and is a danger, with Valentine Blues and Aguerooo the pick of those drawn low.
Moonraker would have been a very short price were this being run on the Fibresand at Southwell but he’s been wildly hit and miss on turf in recent times. Bellevarde and Atty’s Edge could have done without the drying weather, while Flip Mode also has to prove he’s as effective under these conditions, so BLUEBELL TIME gets the vote back at her favourite course. Equally Fast is another to consider if turning out again after yesterday’s clear second at Bath.
Well backed ahead of her debut last month, DORA PENNY got stronger as the race progressed when beating Hattie C on a similarly undulating course at Leicester and she can follow up under a penalty. Symphony Perfect, who holds a few sales race entries and shaped nicely from the outside stall at Nottingham on her debut, can give her most to think about.
Any number to consider in a competitive handicap. Raajihah is unexposed compared to the majority and makes most appeal among those drawn low, along with C&D winner Glamorous Crescent, who’s had excuses this spring. However, INNER CIRCLE is 8lb lower than when going close here last summer and he gets the nod after showing more in a rough race behind Hedging last time. Course specialists Tawaafoq and Major Valentine have done most of their racing in sprints, while Mercurist is coming down in trip on his turf debut.
Although GAMBON’s two course wins came over 6f, he was never travelling with any alacrity when supported last time and tonight’s extra furlong looks much in his favour now. Conversely, this trip on drying ground looks on the sharp side for Sir Plato and Mabre.

Others including Bluebird Day could improve but the leading claims on form belong to Waltzing Queen and TAYLORED. The latter has had more races than the others put together but his debut for David O’Meara was a close call in a Beverley maiden and he may well go one better today given that Waltzing Queen has been absent 112 days since her second on the AW.
Clearly the most likely principals are Plansina and TRIPLE NICKLE and it’s not an easy choice, with the likelihood of a tactical race thrown into the equation. Although Plansina has been winning with something approaching regularity in the last eight months or so, Triple Nickle also knows how to win and she may now be ready to exploit a favourable mark.
