14:00 Dairerin
ITV is all over Epsom on Friday and coverage gets under way with this conditions event for juveniles over 6f. I would expect the champion jockey Oisin Murphy to take some beating here on DAIRERIN for Michael Bell. My hope made a winning debut at Ripon and then went to Newbury and was a fine second to Dukebox being picked up in the final stride. The fast track should suit and the bargain buy should run a big one.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
14:35 Irish Admiral
Now an extended one mile handicap. IRISH ADMIRAL looks to have a huge chance for Tom Marquand and William Haggas. This is just the type of horse Haggas does so well with and the son of French Navy followed up a win at Wolverhampton with a decent third at York. The trip that day was a furlong further than here, and I think the slight drop will suit as he looked all over the winner a furlong out on the Knavesmire.
15:10 Mogul (E/W)
One of the big ones of the day in the Group 1 Coronation Cup over 1m4f. There is no doubt Al Aasy is the one to beat as he could be a superstar this season. However, should the price allow, I’ll have a few quid eachway (just two places) on MOGUL who is a horse I think will have a big year. He ended up last term in great style at Sha Tin, and his third at Longchamp in May was over a trip too short. Back over a mile and a half here I expect a bold show from a horse who has always been very talented. This time last year he was sixth behind Serpentine in the Derby.
15:45 Blue Cup (E/W)
Handicap company once again over 1m2f. This might be the day to back BLUE CUP eachway for David Menuisier and Oisin Murphy. My selection loves this trip and distance on decent ground and was a fine winner at Sandown in July of last year. He’s been dropped a pound for his last two starts and this is a good opportunity to bounce back to his best for a quality trainer.
16:30 Santa Barbara
Classic time with the Group 1 Oaks for fillies over 1m4f. At the scene of where her sire landed the Derby, I expect SANTA BARBARA to absolutely hack up for Ryan Moore and Aidan O’Brien. The Curragh maiden winner was never going to be quick enough for the 1000 Guineas and ran a fine race in fourth in the circumstances. All the reports are that she has thrived for that effort and, having come on bundles, she should outclass her rivals. I don’t expect the track to be an issue despite her inexperience.

17:10 Royal Scimitar
Now a Listed event for 3yo over 7f. ROYAL SCIMITAR was a promising juvenile landing his debut at Newbury and finishing fourth in the Acomb. He hasn’t done so well in two runs this season, but this could be right up his street for Clive Cox and Adam Kirby.
17:40 On A Session (E/W)
Finally a handicap over 7f. ON A SESSION ran a great race for this blog when fourth at Thirsk a couple of runs ago but then ran a shocker at Ascot last time. The ground will be much more suitable here so eachway chances for David Barron and William Buick.
So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
