Top of the list is five-time course winner TOMMY G, who produced a strong finish when beating Caballero over 7f here three weeks ago and still looks feasibly treated off only 3lb higher on this step back up in trip. Second choice is Corndavon Lad, who has had a win and close call over C&D in his last two starts and should be in the thick of things again. Another to consider is the well-handicapped Coviglia, who looks interesting returned to 1m on his stable debut.

Another chance is given to LORD TORRANAGA, in the hope he reverts to the tactics that worked so well at Wolverhampton. Greengage is a very solid alternative.

Wolverhampton regular International Law doesn’t run much on turf these days, while Royal Countess could have done without summer finally arriving. That potentially leaves the way clear for DR T J ECKLEBURG, who’d been knocking at the door prior to not seeing it out on heavy ground last time. Magic Gem, who’s a half-broth

Something of a puzzle, with a good few happiest up front and several weighted to their best and/or better suited by slower ground. Garden Oasis arrives in form and seems more likely than most to give his running but the return to a quicker surface will suit IDOAPOLOGISE, who should be up to winning off this mark in first-time headgear.
