13:45 Super Cub

This could concern mostly SUPER CUB and Bolton Abbey, who have shown a fair level of ability in soft ground. Preference is for the former, who has enough in his pedigree to suggest he should be fully effective on a sound surface and he’s capable of building on his encouraging debut run. Newcomers Buying Time and Hatshepsut are worth watching closely in the market.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

14:20 Mamillius

Two-time course winner MAMILLIUS pulled clear with the winner when second here last time out and is taken to go one better off the same mark today. Street Parade has been thereabouts here the last twice and is second choice, ahead of last-time-out C&D winner Desert Land and Typhoon Ten who drops back in grade. Brunel Charm has been in good form on the AW but is unproven on turf and the cheekpieces are left off today.

14:50 He’s Our Star

Few of these look solid but one who does is Rosa Gold who may be better over further but has to be respected dropping in class. However, preference is for HE’S OUR STAR who has been running with credit since joining Tony Carroll and the fact that he is proven on this track counts for plenty. Coverham should be suited by the likely return to better ground on a sharp track and could go well.

15:25 Junoesque

This looks best left to those who have proved themselves at this venue. Contingency Fee has gained two of his three turf wins over C&D and seems sure to go well but JUNOESQUE is 4-7 around here and has dropped 2lb below her last winning mark, so she gets the vote.

15:55 Dawn View

Miss Matterhorn would have a good chance if taking another step forward from her improved effort at Lingfield six days ago, while Thunder Flash is another to consider if the market indicates he is thought ready for this return to action. However, the selection is DAWN VIEW who made it 15th time lucky over 1m here last month and should have no problem with the return to this trip.

16:30 Ivaquestion

A few of these have something to recommend them, including Lady Elysia who is back off her last winning mark, while it will be interesting to see how Almost You fares on her first turf outing since arriving from France. However, a couple are officially 2lb well-in having finished runner-up in their latest starts and, with his effort having come over today’s C&D, IVAQUESTION is just given the nod over Cherry Cola.

17:00 Rivas Rob Roy

A few of these have recent C&D wins to their name, including Kendergarten Kop and Alezan, but preference is for RIVAS ROB ROY who has been in fine form lately including when coming home powerfully to win here ten days ago. Otago could play a part if building on his promising reappearance here last month.

17:30 Carbon Positive (NAP)

The return to this trip may result in a better effort from Thomas Daniell, while Split Elevens would have a chance if transferring his AW form back to turf. However, this looks a good opportunity for CARBON POSITIVE (nap) whose fourth on his handicap debut at Nottingham last month has been advertised by the subsequent successes of the third and fifth horses. He should be hard to beat if repeating anything like that form.
