It’s time for the best three-mile chasers to take centre stage at the Punchestown Festival – and here’s how to keep tabs on the day’s racing thanks to Paddy Power.
Minella Indo may have withdrawn from the Punchestown Gold Cup due to injury but a slick field of six are set to go to post including Al Boum Photo and Clan Des Obeaux. It’s not the only race on the day two schedule, however, with seven other renewals so there’s plenty to swot up on before the action gets underway.
You want to stay ahead of the curve, yeah? All you have to do is visit our superb racecard feature HERE – or simply click on the Racecards tab at the top of the page.
You’ll find every single confirmed runner and rider there, as well as details of each race, weights and latest odds. Anyway, here’s a quick summary of what to look out for on day two before you scoot on over to our snazzy Racecards page.
A trio of big-field renewals gets the action underway before a triple-fire of Grade 1s starting with the Novice Hurdle at 17.20. The likes of Galopins Des Champs, Vanillier and Telmesomethinggirl provide us with a genuinely competitive eight-runner line up.
The Punchestown Gold Cup follows at 17.55 with Al Boum Photo desperate to return to winning ways especially without Cheltenham Gold Cup foe Minella Indo out of the picture. Clan Des Obeaux and 2019 winner Kemboy provide the leading threats to Willie Mullins’ runner.
Another round of Sir Gerhard vs Kilcruit rounds off the Grade 1 racing at 18.30 with the latter looking to reverse the form from the Cheltenham Champion Bumper. The action is rounded off by the Grade A Guinness Handicap Chase and the Grade 3 Irish EBF Mares Flat Race.
Make sure to keep our Racecards tab among your favourites for the latest information and key details you need to stay fully clued up.
