NEW TO PADDY POWER?
WILL CROWDS BE ALLOWED AT AINTREE RACECOURSE FOR THE 2022 GRAND NATIONAL?
There was one thing missing this year – the punters in attendance.
If the old coronavirus situation continues to improve *touch wood* then the Aintree Racecourse grandstands should be packed to the brim this time next year. The social restrictions imposed by the UK Government are scheduled to be lifted from June 21 2021, allowing for mass events to resume. Happy days.
Should you fancy a trip to Merseyside for the Grand National next year then you can register your interest for tickets on The Jockey Club’s website. See you there!
WHO WON THE 2021 GRAND NATIONAL?
Rachael Blackmore made history by becoming the first female jockey to win the Grand National on Minella Times. The victory continued an incredible streak for the Country Tipperary native after being named Top Jockey at the Cheltenham Festival. It was also another amazing success for trainer Henry de Bromhead, who landed the Champion Hurdle, Champion Chase and Gold Cup at Cheltenham.
De Bromhead had a 1-2 as Balko Des Flos placed second while Any Second Now and Burrows Saint completed an Irish top four.
