After a one-year hiatus, the Grand National is back and the thrilling spectacle of 40 runners and riders tackling the iconic Aintree fences is upon us.

You can keep up to date with all the day’s racing via our superb racecard feature HERE – or simply click on the ‘Racecards’ tab at the top of the page.

You will find all 40 confirmed runners and riders for the greatest steeplechase in the world there, as well as details of each race, weights and latest odds.

If you like, you can head over there now to learn everything you need to know about the big race – but here is a quick round up of the runners and riders.

Bristol De Mai – a multiple Grade 1 winner – heads the weights and will carry 11st 10lb, while there are just five other runners facing the prospect of lugging more than 11st around Aintree.

If you cast your mind back 12 months then you’ll remember a digitalised version of Potters Corner won the Virtual Grand National – and Christian Williams will be hoping his runner can be the victor in real life.

The Henry de Bromhead x Rachael Blackmore dream team will be hoping to add the Grand National to their CVs with Minella Times.

Blaklion snuck in at the bottom of the weights after The Storyteller was withdrawn at the final declaration stage, which is bad news for backers of Secret Reprieve – the winner of the 2020 Welsh Grand National – who misses out.

Keep our racecard tab among your favourites for the latest information and key details you need to stay clued up.

WHICH HORSE IS THE FAVOURITE FOR THE GRAND NATIONAL 2021?

Paddy Power have Cloth Cap as the favourite for the 2021 renewal of the Grand National. Jonjo O’Neill is hoping to saddle his second winner after Don’t Push It claimed victory in 2010. Owner Trevor Hemmings has tasted success in the race three times with Hedgehunter (2005), Ballabriggs (2011) and Many Clouds (2015).

Cloth Cap heads to Aintree hoping to make it a hat-trick after landing the Trophy Chase at Newbury in November and following up in March’s Premier Chase at Kelso. The nine-year-old is a stone ahead of the handicapper after the BHA Rating was changed from 148 to 162 off the back of the win.
