The Paddy Power Millionaire Chase has finally taken place at the fourth attempt, with Geoff from Bootle the lucky lad who drew Langer Dan in the Imperial Cup at Sandown this afternoon.
Just in case you didn’t hear, we’ve boosted our presence at Prestbury Park this year with sponsorship of the Stayers’ Hurdle and the Festival Plate while there is also the inaugural Mrs Paddy Power Mares’ Chase to look forward to – and we cannot wait!
All that’s left to say is congratulations to the newly-minted Geoff and the other lucky qualifiers who bagged £10k regardless for their efforts.

In case you’ve somehow missed it, here’s a quick recap – we’ve been running qualifiers over the last few months leading up to the Millionaire Chase and all our lucky sweepstake spot winners have already been paid £/€10,000 just for making it into the main event.
We tried holding the actual Chase at Cheltenham on New Year’s Day, where the winner would pocket a further £/€990,000, but the weather put paid to our plans.
And that became a familiar theme as two more rescheduled runnings of the competition fell foul of the weather, but now the Millionaire Chase has finally taken place (over hurdles!) and it’s time for Paddy to pay up.

The Dan Skelton-trained charge triumphed over a competitive field in the 2m handicap to leave November qualifier Geoff with a life-changing £1m jackpot – a prize we’ve been trying to give away since New Year’s Day!
That’s not the end of the story though, because as proud sponsor of the Paddy Power Imperial Cup we’re also putting up a £50k bonus for Langer Dan if he wins any race at the Cheltenham Festival next week. He’s already been slashed into 8/1 in Paddy’s non runner money back market for next Friday’s Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle.
