After the worst year in living memory – except for some proper old lads – Paddy Power have ensured that one punter will enjoy 2021 a lot more than 2020, by giving them £/€1million in cash.
Yes, you heard right. Paddy is giving away £/€1m on Jan 1, 2021 with the creatively-named Millionaire Chase at Cheltenham’s New Year’s Day meeting.
The competition continues this Saturday, December 19 at Ascot in the 3.35pm. Huzzah!
So how do we enter Paddy? Don’t worry – it’s so simple even Donald Trump could understand it. Woof!
All you have to do is OPT IN every Thursday, every week for each Saturday qualifier and then place a winning bet on that week’s qualifying race (see below) through the Paddy Power app or Paddy Power website from November 14 through to December 19.
Do that my friend and you could then be the lucky winner in the weekly online draw on our social channels the Monday after each qualifying race. If your name is picked out, you will then go forward to the mega New Year’s Day sweepstake race at Cheltenham.
On New Year’s Day, the lucky entrants will each be assigned a horse in the Paddy Power Handicap Chase at 2pm, where the winner will walk away with the £/€1m booty. Everyone else who makes the final field will get a consolation price of £/€10k. Not bad!
MEET OUR WEEK 2 WINNER: Chris hadn’t a clue he’d won €/£10k in second draw
I’m in – but how do I get started?
If you’re already a Paddy Power customer, you still need to OPT IN every single week from Thursday of that week – to be eligible for a crack at the monster prize. If for some strange reason known only to you, you’re not yet a Paddy Power customer you really need to make an early New Year’s Resolution – like now! – and OPEN AN ACCOUNT HERE.
Then, & only then, OPT IN to the competition page like everyone else, each week for each qualifying race.
What are the 6 qualifier races?

Spokesman Paddy Power said: “It’s been a year to forget for most of us – so we want to make 2021 unforgettable for one lucky punter, through our Millionaire Chase competition.
“Simply by backing one winning horse before the end of 2020, they could find themselves crowned the first new millionaire of 2021. Not a bad way to start 2021!”
