It was a mucking brilliant result for PP punter Carol, from Co Cork, who is the first qualifier for the Millionaire Chase on New Year’s Day.
She backed the Milton Harris-trained Stimulating Song (9/1) on Saturday and was then drawn out in our elaborate but stylish draw on Monday night, run on Paddy Power’s Facebook and Twitter channels.

Paddy broke the good news to Carol, who was also celebrating a birthday on Saturday – not a bad double!
PP: If you win the Millionaire Chase on New Year’s Day what are you going to spend the million on?
Jesus I don’t know! I think I’ll keep my cards close to my chest until I get my hands on it – I don’t want to tempt fate.
PP: Why did you pick Stimulating Song?
I just liked the name of it.
PP: Are you superstitious? Will you be wearing the same socks on NYD that you wore on Sat?
Sure, I can’t remember what socks I was wearing yesterday let alone on Saturday, and who knows what I’ll be wearing on New Years Day. So, that’s a no, Paddy!
PP: It was your birthday on Saturday I believe, happy birthday! What was the best present you got?
I got loads of nice stuff, but probably the bottle of Capt Morgans.
PP: Ahem. What about the (at least) €10k you’ve won just for qualifying?
Oh yeah, the €10k & the bottle of Captain Morgans.
Yes, you heard right. Paddy is giving away £/€1m on Jan 1, 2021 with the creatively-named Millionaire Chase at Cheltenham’s New Year’s Day meeting.
The competition continues this Saturday, November 21 at Ascot with a handicap chase at 3.17pm and is open to all PP customers and newcomers – back the winner and roll into our weekly draw for a chance to win £1m on New Year’s Day at Cheltenham.
