13:30 Doncaster – Brando

ITV’s coverage starts at Doncaster with a Listed race over 6 furlongs. BRANDO was right back to form when second to Glen Shiel in the British Champions Sprint Stakes at Ascot last time and despite being an eight-year-old he can score here. He’s still got a rating of 116 for Kevin Ryan and Kevin Stott and he gets 5lb from Dakota Gold.

13:50 Wincanton – Cill Anna

The jumps cards begin with a handicap hurdle over an extended 2m 5f. This is wide open and very tricky. I’ll have a few quid each-way on strong stayer CILL ANNA, who was improving fast when last seen. That was at Doncaster on February when she scored in heavy ground, but she can cope with a better surface. She has a nice racing weight for Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden

14:05 Doncaster – Chamade

Next up another Listed race in the Gillies Fillies’ Stakes over 1m 2f. I will take a chance here with CHAMADE for Ralph Beckett and Richard Kingscote. The latter is excellent on front runners which Chamade might be and she hasn’t been on soft ground for some time which will really suit her. She’s decent odds with that in mind.

14:25 Wincanton – Grand Sancy

Now a Grade 2 novice chase over 2m 4f. No doubt on form this should be another for Nicholls and Cobden with GRAND SANCY. He’s easily the best horse on ratings and might have more to come on the second run after a wind operation. His jumping was really good at Chepstow last time.

14:40 Aintree – Call Me Lord

One from Aintree to enjoy and that’s this hurdle event over 2m 4f. CALL ME LORD is a classy animal on his day and has every chance here for Nicky Henderson and James Bowen. He ended last season with a tame effort in the Champion Hurdle, but this is his trip and he’ll be hard to stop.

15:00 Wincanton – Sceau Royal

This is a classy contest in the Grade 2 Elite Hurdle over nearly 2m. Nicholls has a strong hand here, but surely SCEAU ROYAL is the one after a fine comeback success at Ffos Las in October. That was his first run over hurdles for some time and he seemed to love going back over the smaller obstacles. With a mark of 155 and getting weight from some, he will be hard to stop at a track that is fine.

15:15 Doncaster – On To Victory

Now one of the big betting races of the day the November Handicap over 1m 4f. I’m backing ON TO VICTORY each-way here for Alan King and James Doyle. My hope has been higher in the weights in the past, but is on a decent mark here of 99 and has a perfect racing weight of 9st. He stays strong and goes in the mud.

15:35 Wincanton – Just A Sting

A competitive chase here which has Listed status over 3m1f. I banged in the winner of this race on the blog last year and want to do the same. The one I will back each-way is last year’s fourth JUST A STING, who often does best at the start of the season. He’s 1lb higher than this time last year, but must have claims for Harry Fry and Sean Bowen.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
