Low-grade fare but certainly not lacking in intrigue. Twilighting still has potential on the AW and can go well, while Magicinthemaking is back into a Class 6 and reunited with Hollie Doyle so needs a close look. GRIGGY is another who is dropping in grade though and he’s very well handicapped on his AW form from earlier in the year.
A few interesting types in here but LORNA COLE looked to have potential over this trip when winning here last month and a 5lb rise may not be enough to contain her. Daddy’s Daughter was only sixth there but she had no trouble going the gallop on her first go at 6f and had a somewhat luckless run in the straight.
Sir Rodneyredblood is likely to give it a good shot from the front but Brenner Pass has a bit more to prove on his course debut. Blue Dawn and Sarayaat are worth a market check now they go handicapping.
Hello Me was way too good for fellow fillies at Wolverhampton but she will indeed be smart if she can give the weight away to some interesting-looking colts. ESCAPE was ultimately bogged down over 7f on soft at Salisbury but there was plenty to like about his debut effort and the drop to 6f could well be the right move.
Red Mirage is feared but the market will have to guide regarding his chance, and that of Impeach and the selection’s stablemate Lexington Fury.
Motagally hasn’t really looked back since the blinkers went on and he should give it another good go despite his latest hike in the weights. Moment Of Silence still has time to fulfil her potential, while Desert Doctor is capable at this level and ought to make another bold bid. FULL AUTHORITY (nap) looked good at Wolverhampton 11 days ago though and he can follow up despite a 6lb rise in the weights and stronger opposition.
There is a lot to like about the way LEGENDARY DAY is progressing and he can make a successful nursery debut. Miami Joy has quickly developed into a winning machine on the AW and is the best alternative, while State Occasion has been in good form and is probably capable of better now she is switched to nurseries.
Handicap debutant Shamaroon still has potential but this will be a stiffer test of his credentials than the Chelmsford novice he won last month. Jumaira Bay has one piece of form that gives him major claims if the blinkers do the trick, while Hieronymus has been first past the post on his last three starts here. Preference is for ALMUFTI now back up to 1m, with last week’s third over 7f here suggesting he was primed to strike.
An open-looking contest. Lady Andaz is very much of interest, having taken a step in the right direction last time, while Gumra, Roman Spinner, Inevitable Outcome and Gold Brocade can all be added to the list of potential contenders. However, with a good gallop likely FRONT OF LINE is given another chance, after hinting she might win one of these last time.
A weak contest in which VITESSE DU SON, who might have finished closer at Wolverhampton last time, is the suggestion. Lafontaine arrives in good form and could go close if effective over this trip, while Cashel could again be involved in the shake-up.
A tricky race which involves recent winners Itmakesyouthink and Farewell Kiss, who have both since been held, plus Pure Purfection who should be competitive but remains a maiden. Secret Treaties and Kalimotxo are not ruled out but it could be worth chancing ROCKIN’ N RAVEN, who looks interesting after a 7lb drop, in first-time headgear and back down in trip.
