Scottish Accent may be the stronger of the two Rebecca Menzies runners and could go well but those at the top of the handicap look stronger so the finish may be fought out by The Ferry Master and GLORIOUS LADY. The last-named did really well over hurdles last season and, as the winner of her only point, should be suited by the switch to chasing. Kauto D’Amour is another to consider.
12:55 Nada To Prada
This may go to NADA TO PRADA, whose Warwick bumper form looks a good bit better now. Train Hill and On The Wild Side remain promising despite modest latest efforts, and Giovanni Change also has to be seriously considered.
13:25 Nortonthorpelegend
Last year’s winner Classical Milano has not done enough to suggest a repeat success is on the cards, but Costly Dream and NORTONTHORPELEGEND arrive with decent course form to their credit and may fight out the finish. Cases can also be made for Buddha Scheme, Smuggler’s Stash and Absolutely Dylan.
13:55 Sultans Pride (NAP)
Sound chances can be given to the likes of Lough Derg Jewel, Henrietta Bell and Court Baloo, but SULTANS PRIDE (nap) scored with real authority here eight days ago and is taken to defy his 10lb higher mark.
14:28 Forever Des Long
Having been runner-up on his last outing to a horse who subsequently finished second at the Cheltenham Festival, FOREVER DES LONG is the clear form choice. Scene Not Herd, who ran well on his hurdling debut, may chase him home, while it would be no surprise to see a big run from Shiroccsmyworld, whose trainer saddled a novice hurdle winner at a recent meeting here.
15:03 Event Of Sivola
This looks wide open. A chance is taken that top weight EVENT OF SIVOLA, who has had less racing than most of these, returns from a break in good form. Most of the others have some sort of chance, with Graystown perhaps the pick of them if he can minimise the jumping errors.
15:40 Get On John
The penalised Let Me Entertain U will find this competition far less exacting than at the Cheltenham Festival on his latest start and should give a good account of himself, but narrow preference is for GET ON JOHN, who shaped with some promise over C&D on his debut and has since joined a trainer with a fine bumper record. A market move for one of the newcomers would be noteworthy.
16:11 Lelantos
Some interesting newcomers are headed by LELANTOS whose stable is always to be feared in bumpers and is 2-2 in them here. Scardino and Platinumcard are other likely sorts on debut, while the form shown last year by Bucko’s Boy puts him in the mix.
