Horse Racing tips: 7 sweet selections at Ffos Las on Thursday

It’s difficult to work up much enthusiasm for the five who have been in action recently, so by a process of elimination MOUSEINTHEHOUSE gets the vote in the hope he can repeat the form of his course and distance success in January.

This represents a drop in grade for Cesar Collonges, who may respond positively to the visor and tongue-tie. Goldencard’s form figures hardly inspire, but he’s tumbling in the weights and would be dangerous if the market spoke in his favour.

With plenty of experience on his side, Jac Brown should be thereabouts once more, but he meets a couple of promising types here. DO YOUR JOB shaped with conspicuous promise at Newbury and is taken to go one better, while Truckers Pass showed more than enough in bumpers to suggest he’ll be winning races over hurdles this season too.

13:50 Legends Gold

Five chasing debutantes contest an interesting novice event. The one to beat is LEGENDS GOLD, whose career to date has been one of steady improvement and who ought to be just as useful over fences as hurdles. Oriental Cross goes well in the mud and looks the biggest danger.

14:20 Financial Outcome

A tricky puzzle to solve, and it’s hard to rule out any of the runners. Dell’ Arca and Lord Bryan have already run creditably this season and make the shortlist, but a couple of the others have more potential. FINANCIAL OUTCOME looks the type to do better still this season and is narrowly preferred to Not A Role Model.

14:50 Blackfinch

Most of these are lightly raced and open to improvement. Nicky Martin’s pair Call Simon and Craic Magic both showed promise over hurdles in their first season, while Dalkingstown and Frankie Baby are jumps-bred recruits from bumpers. But, BLACKFINCH already sets a high standard, and with today’s longer distance likely to suit him well he could be difficult to beat.

15:20 Uno Mas

This revolves around UNO MAS (NAP), who bounced back to form with a vengeance over C&D last week, winning by a wide margin. A 7lb penalty should not prevent a follow-up provided he handles today’s softer ground. With Pleasure has been in form on the Flat and makes each-way appeal, while Galtee Mountain could still be unexposed.

15:50 Maggies Mogul

As usual in bumpers, the market may prove revealing. Some pointing experience could be beneficial, and the unbeaten MAGGIES MOGUL gets a narrow verdict over the more seasoned Alaphilippe. Pick of the newcomers on paper may be Tom Lacey’s Stunsail.
