Killarney 14:35 – Erin’s Benefit
Erin’s Benefit won a bumper at Tramore and was third over hurdles at Listowel last time, when possibly sitting a little too far off the pace behind the eventual first and second, Felicidad and Beret Rouge.
John Kiely’s mare did everything else right that day, jumping and travelling well under jockey Denis O’Regan. She sets the standard against Monday’s opposition and is my best bet on the card.
Killarney 15:05 – Dundeedy Lad
Dundeedy Lad has shown decent snippets of form for trainer Mick Winter at various stages of his career, but has ultimately proved a little disappointing. He runs here off a pretty basement mark of 80 and comes into the contest a fresh horse.
It’s a local enough track for the trainer and hopefully he has been targeted at this and can give punters a good run for their money. He looks to have plenty going for him.
Killarney 15.35 – Flemings Dream
A big field in what is a competitive looking rated novice hurdle and I’m hoping Flemings Dream is the answer to this 2m 6f puzzle. She ran a bit too keen possibly over three miles last time when third to Metal Man and Friary Rock Kilbeggan in September, having been a convincing 15 length winner from Raleagh Flora at that track over 3m 1f in August.
The bigger field should help her to settle better and she looks to have excellent each-way claims.
