Horse Racing tips: 8 we rate ahead of a packed card at Uttoxeter on Sunday

The Racing Post have assessed every race on today's card

Uttoxeter Horse racing

12.35pm – Brief Ambition

One True King finished ahead of BRIEF AMBITION in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham but his hurdle debut at Stratford was relatively low-key, even allowing for the race being a warm one for the time of year. He is open to improvement but Brief Ambition, who is capable of better form than he showed at Cheltenham, is an interesting hurdle prospect for a yard that has made hay in maiden/novice hurdles in recent months. Do Your Job is preferred of the remainder, though there are several interesting candidates.

1.05pm – Faivoir

Useful Flat-racer Mayfair Spirit looks very interesting on today’s hurdle debut, while Here Comes McCoy made a very taking debut in a big-field bumper last season. However, Irish point winner FAIVOIR created a good impression when winning bumpers on consecutive starts in February/March and might be the answer.

1.40pm – Easy Bucks

A race riddled with risks. Marginal preference is for EASY BUCKS, who ran a pleasing first race over fences and is potentially a stronger stayer than Enforcement, who was close up behind him at Plumpton. Lough Salt also comes into it.

2.16pm – Radjash

Alfie’s Angel and Ever So Cool ran well at Newton Abbot 15 days ago and the latter may be able to reverse the placings here. She’s feared, while Gameface needs a close market check and Highland Bobby hinted at a revival here last time.

RADJASH is a longstanding maiden but he’s been in good form over hurdles this summer and Tuesday’s second at Sedgefield, when running into a handicap blot, offers hope he can take this off the same mark.

2.46pm – Emitom

This is no easy starter over fences for EMITOM and his future lies over further, but such was the quality of his form as a staying hurdler he should take some beating. Monsieur Lecoq is unproven over quite this far but appeals as the most likely threat. Boss Man Fred and Hurricane Harvey are preferred of the remainder.

3.16pm – Dagueneau (nap)

Debestyman was probably unlucky not to win the Lanzarote at Kempton in January and can hopefully collect a good prize at some stage this season but he lacks a recent run and, for that reason, preference is for DAGUENEAU (nap), who ran well in defeat over C&D on his handicap debut in August and still has potential for improvement.

Manning Estate won his latest start in good style and is next on the list, ahead of Kansas City Chief and course specialist Sirobbie.

Uttoxeter Races

3.46pm – Statuario

A trappy handicap with doubts about most of them. On the back of a solid first run over fences preference is for STATUARIO, with Wenceslaus and Destined To Shine feared most in that order of preference. Haldon Hill probably has an improved effort in him at some stage.

4.16pm – Shantou Express

Filou Des Issards and Kannapolis have races in them over hurdles and can go well, while The Triple Pillar wasn’t beaten far at Warwick on his rules debut and shouldn’t be too far away. The pair to focus on could be Midnight River and SHANTOU EXPRESS though and the latter can show the benefit of his hurdle debut at Stratford last month.
