Quite a tricky heat. THE SHUNTER built on his stable debut, his trainer trying to teach him to settle more, with a come-from-behind win at Downpatrick. He could still turn into quite a smart horse. Soldiers Hill looks tough to beat if jumping well.
LINE OUT is a token selection in a trappy handicap. He had a slightly higher hurdles mark and overcame some difficulties in scoring at Ballinrobe. Scoir Meair would probably take this if near his best.
Recent winners Give Him Time and Gold Sun will be popular in the market but an interesting one at a bigger price is LORD LARIAT (nap), who has been in fine form over hurdles lately and looks fairly handicapped over fences. He prefers good ground. Therellalwaysbeone also looks well handicapped on his hurdles form, so can go well, along with Fairymount Boy.
A dead match between GASPARD DU SEUIL and Mr Jackman, in all probability. Neither has hurdled but yard form would put you off neither. Both could be quite smart
If he runs even close to his 128 rating then YOUNG TED(nap) should win this handsomely. There isn’t a lot of depth to it and, even if he isn’t fully tuned up coming off a break, it will be disappointing if he doesn’t score. Cardboard Gangster and Favori Logique can follow him home.
Very open but a chance is taken on LADY IN LAVENDER, who ran well behind the now 141-rated Goodbye Someday at Tramore on her last hurdle start. Wild Desire ran well at this course last time over further and the drop in trip will suit her. Latoyah Of North and Paula’s Prayer are others to consider.
This looks a decent contest. COLONEL MUSTARD could solve the puzzle, though clearly Sam’s Choice has to be greatly feared. The selection is probably going to be more suited by a pace test, so tactics will play a part.
