I’m going to go for TIS MARVELLOUS, coming here in form on the back of a win at Leicester. This is a much harder race, but the fact that he’s in form and might just improve from that run means he might have less question marks about him than some others.
I’m sticking with EXTRA ELUSIVE, who is in form. This is a furlong extra than the last day at Windsor but he finished so strongly there that it doesn’t look like it will be any trouble to him at all.
Obviously there is a little bit of guesswork here, trying to balance and compare form against each other. I was a bit surprised that BAHRAIN PRIDE wasn’t a shorter price, as he was impressive on both previous starts.
Two wins from two is impressive enough, but he’s also pretty green and I’m taking that as a positive that he’s going to be learning and improving.
I’m going to go with Bahrain Pride as I feel around 11/2 is a surprisingly generous price.
I’ve written down ETNEYA, and that is an almost total guess! My only reason why is that a lot of these horses are only going in one direction and Etneya has only had two runs.
There is a chance she might be going in the other direction, but my selection is just purely for that reason more than anything else.
It’s a ‘trappy’ race for a Group 3, shall we say?
