Scottish horse racing punter scoops almost £10k off £3 stake to give Paddy a spanking

What a super Sunday this was for our crafty customer!

Yesterday was a bad day for our bean counters as they had to cough up over £9,600 off just a £3 punt to one of our bettors in Scotland.

The evidently knowledgeable racing punter from Motherwell beat off amazing odds of 3,217/1 to score a tidy windfall of £9,654.

The Scot landed the prize after pulling out the crystal ball to correctly call four winners at three different tracks in the UK, all in the space of about two hours and 40 minutes.

Here’s how it all came in:

First on deck was the 14:30 on Wolverhampton’s all-weather track, where FAREWELL KISS was our victor’s pick.

This ended up being the most nervy affair on the betslip as joint-favourite Deftera Lad made Farwell Kiss work all the way, but Michael Ball’s filly took the lead a furlong out and held on by a neck to take the spoils.

Next up was the 14:55 at Chelmsford City, where all-weather was again the surface. Mark Johnson’s DESERT SAFARI did the business for our customer taking the victory going away from the second placed Racous.

Joe Fanning did a fine job in the saddle to bring Desert Safari out of the pack a furlong out and the colt bolted on to bring up the second leg of the four-fold accumulator.

It was a quick turnaround for the next race as our winner’s list and MOTAMAYIZ was required to be first past the winning post in the 15:15 at Bath.

This was the only turf selection in the bet and it proved to be a good one as Roger Varian’s gelding justified his favourite tag on the day to beat off the brave challenge of Water’s Edge to put the wager on the brink of victory.

It must have been a nervous wait for our victor, as the final pick came in the 17:05 back at Wolverhampton.

James Fanshawe’s FLYING WEST may have been the favourite, but he needed a good shake from star jockey Tom Marquand two furlongs out to get home by a length ahead of Our Shakila.

With that result, the loot was landed, and our bettor took home a nifty total of £9,654. So, all we can do is tip our cap and say a hearty well done!
