Horse Racing Tips: Here’s 9 to shine at Wolverhampton this evening

Your bite-sized guide to each race from the Racing Post's tipsters.

16:30  MORJHANA

None of the newcomers represents a yard noted for first-time-out 2yo winners, with Desert Cat perhaps the most interesting among them. The progressive Desert Vision’s latest second has been boosted since but the concession of a penalty to MORJHANA, who shaped nicely on her debut, may prove beyond her. Hala Be Zain, who started favourite on her firm-ground debut, is another with claims

17:00 GOLD ZABEEL

The free-going GOLD ZABEEL is better drawn than when going close off this mark ten days ago (Street Poet back in fourth) and can open his account at the main expense of Swiss Pride and Fresh Snow

17:35  LEQUINTO

Lead Singer should be capable of better, with normal service having been resumed for his yard following a relatively quiet spell, but LEQUINTO (nap) is in off the same mark as when a close second over C&D ten days ago and is preferred in a race that should be run at a good clip

18:10 DUBAI ELEGANCE

ny number to consider in a handicap in which a couple of the potential pacemakers are drawn wide. Global Humor had three of tonight’s rivals behind over C&D 12 days ago, but third-placed DUBAI ELEGANCE, who was dropped in from stall 13 that day, is fancied to turn things round on 4lb better terms and thus end a losing run for her yard. The consistent maiden Marvel should go well again, while the market will help with Unapologetic, who’s straight into handicap company after two starts having undergone wind surgery

18:45 DANA FOREVER

With Thrilla In Manila and Autumn Trail both drawn wide, today could be the day DANA FOREVER breaks her duck from a handy stall under a 7lb claimer. The expensive-to-follow Baltic State, who was drawn wide at Pontefract last time, is another to consider down another 3lb

19:15 FAISAL

It looks as if there are an awful lot of no-hopers in the field, which leaves it as easily the most likely outcome that impressive Lingfield scorer FAISAL will win again, with Secret Account and War Cross (preferred in that order) battling it out for second. Desert Eclipse is a newcomer to check out.

19:45 CALM DOWN

The well-bred handicap newcomer Mdina is a very interesting contender but preference is for fellow 3yo CALM DOWN, who was an encouraging fifth on her handicap debut at Windsor last month. Final Attack can go well once more, while Klipperty Klopp could return to form now back down in distance.

20:15 CHOSEN STAR

The Queen’s CHOSEN STAR was a convincing winner when upped to 11.4f at Windsor last time and this lightly raced 3yo can defy a 3lb rise and follow up. Critique has run solid races in 1m 4f Polytrack handicaps the last twice and is feared most.

20:45 INDIGO TIMES

Nikolayeva bolted up at Catterick recently and is a strong candidate under a 6lb penalty, despite the soft ground maybe having played a part in her dominance. However, preference is for fellow 3yo INDIGO TIMES, who has been shaping as though this step up in trip could be just what he needs. Lilypad and Kaisan arrive in good form.
