He needs to settle better this time, but he still retains a deal of potential moving forward and could well be worth another chance in what looks an open handicap. SIRIUS SLEW lurks on a tempting mark if building on his promising comeback at Wolverhampton and the cheekpieces he wore when scoring at Epsom this time last year are back on. He is just 2 lb higher in the weights than for that win and a bold show should be forthcoming. In a very competitive contest he gets the vote over Purgatory, who had course and distance form figures of 211 in 2019, and Keepup Kevin.

ARAMIS GREY displayed progressive form in her qualifying runs on the all-weather in recent weeks, and now allotted a very fair opening mark, she makes plenty of appeal with the step up to seven furlongs likely to suit on both pedigree and run style. Light Lily was impressive at Wolverhampton and can have her last run overlooked so she’s a threat, along with Cmon Cmon.
16:35 Line Of Departure
LINE OF DEPARTURE is firmly on the progressive path now, making it two from two in nurseries since the blinkers have been discarded. A subsequent 5 lb rise in the weights looks more than fair and, open to further improvement, he is strongly fancied to complete a hat-trick in what doesn’t look the deepest race of its type. Mashmoom rates the chief threat, ahead of First Prophet.
17:10 Spirited Guest
SPIRITIED GUEST wasn’t seen to anything like best effect in a stronger race than this at Ascot last time, so could be the way to go from what still looks a fair mark. Inevitable Outcome returned with an improved effort at Newcastle four weeks ago and would be a big threat if transferring that form to turf, while three-time course and distance winner Camachess completes the shortlist having run respectably from a poor position at Haydock 19 days ago.
17:40 Sicilian Belle
A tricky nursery with a chance taken on SICILIAN BELLE, who boasts a speedy pedigree and is better than she could show at Ripon last time. Red Carpet Queen posted an improved effort on her nursery bow at Wolverhampton and may do better still, while Onaledge’s opening mark looks a fair one judged on her Sandown run in July.
