Paddy Power was joined by the legend Ruby Walsh and tipping guru Frank Hickey to preview another fascinating weekend’s racing on both sides of the Irish Sea as well as looking back on the week that was on the latest edition of From The Horse’s Mouth.
You can hear the podcasts in full below and read on to see Ruby and Paddy’s best bets of the weekend.
Pomelois obviously going to be favourite after only one run. Harry Bentley rides again and this one was quite impressive at Newbury beating six rivals, but does lack a bit of experience, maybe, for Goodwood. Newbury’s a fine, big, level track. You’ve got that downhill winding camber at Goodwood, so experience could be against Pomelo but it looks the best horse in the race.
I’ve gone for Pradohere, bit of a shot in the dark, but it won at 12/1 last time at Salisbury and kind of stumbled at the start that day and according to the comments it came back to win handy enough, so maybe it might be a little bit better than the result even suggests.
I’m going to go with the favourite, Cabaletta, in this one. It’s been second to Enbihaar. Enbihaar obviously beat the cup horses in York but Subjectivist was just too far behind Pyledriver in York, for me.
Benbatl is a worthy favourite. Regal Reality would have to have his chance but I’m going on a hunch and I’m going on a horse called Urban Icon. If you go back to May last year at Epsom when he chased home Space Blues in the Scurry Stakes, I just think a reproduction of that run might be good enough.
Sinjaariis my best bet of the weekend. He won the John Smith’s Cup after he had a troubled run and this is a step up from that but he’s probably a bit better than winning a big handicap would suggest so I think Sinjaari.

Ruby: Pomelo
Pomelo is obviously going to be favourite after only one run. Paddy: Prado

Ruby: Urban Icon

Paddy: Sinjaari (NAP)
Sinjaari is my best bet of the weekend. He won the John Smith’s Cup after he had a troubled run and this is a step up from that but he’s probably a bit better than winning a big handicap would suggest so I think Sinjaari.
