Horse Racing tips: The best bets from the ENTIRE card at Bellewstown on Wednesday

Here are eight The Racing Post’s tipster reckons could be great at the Co Meath track.

Bellewstown-Races

15:45 Madaket Mystery

All of these have questions of some sort to answer and there isn’t much between them on ratings.

Having been a model of consistency before disappointing at Tipperary last time, MADAKET MYSTERY is given another chance here. Mostaqqer will be running on strongly late and can get involved along with Defilade.

16:15 Kauri Cliffs

With the benefit of a good Galway run behind him, KAURI CLIFFS is likely to improve a good deal and can confirm those placings with Zozimus and a couple of others.

Of definite interest is A Case Of You, decisive winner of a Dundalk barrier trial, but has a poor draw to overcome.

16:45 Moon In Her Eye

Though the level of her form doesn’t match that of Grammata, MOON IN HER EYE could have more improvement in her having had just two starts, with a solid fourth in Listed company last time.

The former was a Listed runner-up last month, but disappointed at that level last time and needs to bounce back. Provocateuse is interesting, while Ablah can go well.

17:15 Betrayed

A chance is taken on BETRAYED to get off the mark on handicap debut. She has run two solid races in maidens over this trip and could improve for easier ground today.

The Blue Panther ran better than it appeared at Naas three days ago and the drop back to 5 furlongs is in his favour.

17:45 It’s All A Joke

Ability to handle soft ground or possibly worse is likely to be of paramount importance here, and will certainly be a worry for those that might fancy the likes of Misterio or A Step Too Far.

No such worries apply to Sunday’s Naas winner IT’S ALL A JOKE though, and he has to have a leading chance of following up under his mandatory penalty. Stable companion Pillar should not be far away.

18:15 Great Bear

Needless to say, it is an interesting handicap. Gowran Park maiden winner Pugin is progressive and is unlikely to be far away in his first handicap. Tramore winner Itsalonglongroad is not the most consistent but should be capable of a good run if repeating that on ground he handles.

The one to be on though could well be GREAT BEAR (NAP), who seemed to handle the testing ground well when a very good third in a premier handicap at Killarney last week. The drop in trip will do him no harm.

Pearl Warrior, Effernock Fizz and Bashiyr are others to come into it.

18:45 Aprils Joy

Lots in with chances and perhaps APRILS JOY can follow up her course win last time, having run well over fences since. She should handle testing ground.

Conor Hogan is one to note on the back of his Leopardstown third, with today’s rival Getaway Queen back in fifth that day.

The latter won at Tramore last time and has a shout, as does Martha’s Vineyard, Misty Millie and Grove Hill.

19:15 Cool Colonnade

Though he was a beaten favourite last time COOL COLONNADE looks solid again off just 2lb higher and can get off the mark on the Flat.

Jeff Kidder has been runner-up the last thrice on the Flat and over hurdles, but has been raised 9lb for last time so that tempers enthusiasm. Vita Veritas and Harvey Specter can be thereabouts.
