Paddy Power and Ruby Walsh welcomed Frank Hickey back from another holiday as they dished out some more tips and reacted to the superb week of racing we’ve seen at the York Races Ebor Festival so far.
And, with the final day still to come on Saturday, Paddy and Ruby put their heads together to try and find some more winners on day four of the Ebor Festival.
You can listen to this week’s From The Horse’s Mouth in full below, but we’ve picked out Ruby and Paddy’s picks for Saturday here, along with our rather handy betting widgets.
I think Mambo Nightsis improving, he’s heading for a hat trick. Won a maiden then won a four-runner handicap. Richard Hannon’s horses are in good form and Andrea Atzeni is riding. I think he’s still improving.
True Self’s in great form, but Verdana Blue is a big danger. Two-and-a-half miles on the slower ground at Ascot was just too far for her and dropping back in trip would suit her. True Self’s in really good order.
She was a good winner down in Australia last December, she’s had a couple of runs back in Ireland since, she ran behind Magical at the Curragh and then was disappointing at Cork.
Her work at home has been good since, she’s fitted with a tongue tie. The dryer the ground gets the better the chance she’ll have. I think True Self is a great each-way bet.
I’m going for Miss O Connor. I’m going to forgive her a disappointing Ascot run. She’s a front runner and loves a bit of cut in the grass. York is very much a front-runner’s track so I’m going for Miss O Connorfor an each-way bet.
I’m going for Fujaira Prince. I backed him at Ascot and he won really easily. I’ve got a loyalty there, you know? It looks like he has any amount more to give because he won so easy at Ascot over the trip so, I just thought it would have to be a good one to beat him.

Ruby’s picks
14:25 Mambo Nights
I think Mambo Nights is improving, he’s heading for a hat trick. Won a maiden then won a four-runner handicap. Richard Hannon’s horses are in good form and Andrea Atzeni is riding. I think he’s still improving.
15:00 One Master
At Goodwood One Master didn’t even get a good run but still managed to get out and win so One Master for me.
15:40 True Self (e/w)
True Self’s in great form, but Verdana Blue is a big danger. Two-and-a-half miles on the slower ground at Ascot was just too far for her and dropping back in trip would suit her. True Self’s in really good order.

Paddy’s Picks
13:50 Miss O Connor (e/w)
I’m going for Miss O Connor. I’m going to forgive her a disappointing Ascot run. She’s a front runner and loves a bit of cut in the grass. York is very much a front-runner’s track so I’m going for Miss O Connor for an each-way bet.
14:25 Arthurian Fable (e/w)
I was going to tip up Arthurian Fable even though Ryan Moore’s got off him to ride Kipps. He’s a real slogger and could be a good each-way shout.
15:00 One Master (NAP)
Every time One Master runs over seven furlongs he wins, bar once, I think, in his career. So, I’ll keep it simple and go for One Master.
15:40 Fujaira Prince
I’m going for Fujaira Prince. I backed him at Ascot and he won really easily. I’ve got a loyalty there, you know? It looks like he has any amount more to give because he won so easy at Ascot over the trip so, I just thought it would have to be a good one to beat him.
