Horse Racing Tips: 9 nifty best bets at Beverley today

Here's the Racing Post's best bets for every race, including a NAP, at Beverley on Tuesday.

BeverleygenericJun20

13:00 Bay Of Whispers

Stall 9 is not ideal and her best form has come at 6f, but BAY OF WHISPERS still appeals most on the strength of her second at York last time. Miss Nay Never is a danger on her debut effort, while the experienced Brazen Belle needs respecting.

13:30 Beechwood Donna

Kevin Ryan’s BEECHWOOD DONNA was disappointing under a penalty at Catterick but she never really looked comfortable on that track and sets a clear standard here on her emphatic debut win over C&D. She looks worth another chance back at this track and may well be able to make it two wins from three starts. Prudhoe looks the main danger of the other runners with experience, while there are some newcomers who need checking in the market including Kornflake and Blissful Song.

14:00 Saluti

Paul Midgley and Nigel Tinkler run three apiece and have somehow landed the inside six stalls between them. Of the others, Secretinthepark isn’t well drawn for a would-be front-runner, while Afandem could use plenty of rain. Princess Power, who’s done well since the visor came off and boasts a good record here, looks the pick of the Tinkler trio, but SALUTI did nothing wrong off this mark when drawn away from the action at Goodwood and is preferred to stablemate Nibras Again, who’d want the rain to stay away.

14:30 Diamond Haze

Six of the 11 are straight into a nursery after two starts, with 400,000gns yearling Hafez the most interesting among them, and the market will likely tell a tale, just as it did when DIAMOND HAZE justified strong support at Thirsk nine days ago. The seventh furlong was always liable to help that day, with him out of an Irish middle-distance winner, and today’s stiffer test should suit under a penalty. There’s No Danger is another worth considering at a likely bigger price.

15:00 False ID

Najib ran well last week and enters calculations, while Talk Now, Van Dijk and Allux Boy also warrant a close look at this level. FALSE ID was behind Talk Now last time but that race wasn’t run to suit and he could prove a more potent force today.

15:30 Keepup Kevin

A competitive handicap with several in-form or well-treated candidates. Caballero didn’t look a lost cause at York last time and can give a good account, while Amadeus Grey and Bobby Shaft also have something to recommend them. KEEPUP KEVIN lurks on a dangerous mark though and he may be the answer as he bids to gain a third course success.

16:00 Point Of Honour

Most of these have plenty to prove but POINT OF HONOUR looks a solid contender after his bold bid from a tough draw at Catterick on his recent comeback and he gets the vote on this drop back in trip. The Trendy Man needs to bounce back again but he rallied well when scoring off only 1lb lower over C&D last month and is a big danger if he can recapture that form. The other one on the shortlist is Cheap Jack, who had an excuse at 1m4f last time and went close behind The Trendy Man here on his penultimate run.

16:30 Sea Sister

Olly Murphy’s SEA SISTER may be the answer. She won with something up her sleeve at Catterick and appeals as the type who may benefit from headgear. Splash Of Verve is next best, ahead of Major Snugfit.

17:05 Lismore (NAP)

This represents her toughest test yet by some margin but LISMORE (nap) is an imposing filly on a roll and returning to 2m, and on this stiff track, is a big plus. Well Funded could be a danger should conditions soften, with Deposit, Kitty’s Cove and Wadacre Galoubet others to bear in mind.
