Balagan returned from a brief stint away from the sport to have back-to-back impressive runs at Uttoxeter in July. The 5yo won his first race back and followed it up with a 2nd place finish. The wind op he had has done him the world of good.
Soldier On Parade is well fancied today after an impressive win here a month ago. The 3yo is a fair flat-racer, and chased home dual subsequent winner Hiconic on his hurdle debut at Bangor, finishing in 2nd before going on to win at Market Rasen just a few weeks later.
Having made no impact in three slow-ground runs during the winter, with no better than a 6th place finish, Millie Of Mayo came out looking superb at Market Rasen last month. The 5yo ridden by Danny McMenamin – who rides her today – won in a field of nine last time out and is fancied today.
Despite being well-beaten on her last run, finishing last in a field of 7 at Newton Abbot, she is well handicapped today and should give a better account of herself. Diamond Gait made an encouraging chase debut two starts ago, finishing 4th of 9 at Stratford-on-Avon.
El Presente had a great run on his last start, winning at Market Rasen when being ridden by David Bass, who rides him today. The 7yo also reached the frame in a wam novice chase at Huntingdon last season, and remains lightly raced over fences.
Paricolor had an impressive pair of wins back-to-back at Fakenham and Sedgefield late last year, and followed that up with a 3rd place finish at Market Rasen on Boxing Day. He was disappointing in his final winter run at Plumpton, but was distracted by a loose horse at the time, and is still a major player today.
Tricky Customer has a mixed record in points/hurdles from his first nine starts, but had a great showing last time out, winning at Market Rasen last month. The 6yo ran well on heavy over hurdles, and will enjoy the good conditions today.
Dens Delight is the half-brother to Mille Chief, a very impressive hurdler, and is tipped to follow suit. The 5yo has only been out once, and looked good on his debut to finish 2nd from 6 spots at Market Rasen, pushing the eventual winner close.
