That form comfortably sets the standard in this line-up, and his scope for further improvement makes him very much the one to beat as he attempts to open his account at the second attempt.
14:00 Susucaru
SUSUCARU proved a disappointment on her most recent start at Wolverhampton, but it’s too soon to be writing her off given how promising she had looked in two previous outings.
Indeed, she had shown fair form to fill the runner-up spot at both Pontefract and Thirsk, and those efforts suggest a BHA mark of 69 won’t prove her limit now switching to handicaps – with the prospect of even better to come in first-time cheekpieces.
14:30 Monza City
MONZA CITY took a step forward when second on her nursery debut at Goodwood, showing plenty of speed before being collared in the final furlong.
The drop back to 6 furlongs is likely to suit on that evidence, and a 3lb higher mark might not be enough to stop her going one better, with the booking of champion jockey Oisin Murphy also catching the eye.
15:00 Harry’s Ridge
HARRY’S RIDGE was clear of the rest when second at Redcar last time, finding only a much-improved sort too good.
That form comfortably sets the standard in this contest, which looks to present him with an excellent opportunity to belatedly get off the mark.
15:30 Alben Spirit
ALBEN SPIRIT produced his best effort to date when third at Doncaster last time, keeping on well to be beaten just a length and a half. He arguably shaped better than the bare result too, given that the pair who beat him both came from further back in a strongly-run race.
Alben Spirit can race from the same mark here in what is a slightly weaker contest, so he looks to hold sound claims of getting back to winning ways.
16:00 Sorrel
SORREL would have benefited from a stiffer test when second at Newbury last month, only just failing in a race than had been steadily-run.
The longer trip here is likely to play more to her strengths, and she still has the potential to suggest she can defy a 3lb higher mark for Sir Michael Stoute, who has his string in good nick at present (73% of horses running to form).
16:30 Stunning Beauty
STUNNING BEAUTY created a deep impression on her debut at Newmarket, hitting the front a furlong out and quickly forging clear, ultimately winning easily by four lengths.
That form is working out well – the third and the fourth have both won since – and Stunning Beauty ran to a level that suggests she is well up to defying a penalty.
She seems sure to go on improving too, and it’s highly likely that she will be plying her trade in pattern company before the end of the season.
17:00 Furqaan
FURQAAN showed improved form to make a successful turf debut at Windsor three weeks ago, overcoming a trouble passage to land the spoils by a length.
She is only 4lb higher here and should mount a bold follow-up bid if arriving in the same sort of form, especially as most of her rivals are well exposed at this stage.
