Horse Racing tips: Jason Weaver’s 8 to be great for Sunday’s ITV Racing bonanza

A three-track smash up on the Sunday tellybox. What more could you want?

Jason Weaver Flat Racing

Salisbury 13:40 Lord Tennyson

Didn’t bounce out of his unlucky Royal Ascot run with the expected improvement in the Summer M mile and finished well behind future Group One performer Mohaather. These are much calmer waters for Lord Tennyson and the drop down to 7 furlongs looks ideal.

Thirsk 13:55 Duke of Firenze

The old boy still has plenty of life in him yet judged on his last run up In Scotland. Duke of Firenze is  never going to get back up to a lofty triple-digit rating, but make no mistake he’s well handicapped off a lowly mark of 83.

ThirskJun20

Salisbury 14:15 Tone the Barone

Was a comfortable winner of a red-hot handicap at Ascot over 5f last time and he’s well up to defying the 6lb hike for that success. Tone the Barone travelled so smoothly in that contest, suggesting that he is still very much in front of his official rating.

Thirsk 14:30 East Street Revue

Look destined for the winner’s enclosure last time but came up short after the rider dropped his whip. Only one of East Street Revue’s six victories have come over 6 furlongs, but that was over this course and distance. The draw should be fine as he will be played late anyway to try and nick it.

Salisbury 14:50 Salayel

Roger Varian’s runner ran an absolute cracker on her return at Royal Ascot when only finding Sir Busker too good on that occasion. Salayel was a little bit disappointing last time in black type company, but will appreciate the drop back down in grade and is well up to carrying the top weight burden of 10 stone.

Curragh 15:10 Laws of Indices

Ken Condon’s runner has dramatically improved with his racing and it’s fantastic that the operation are taking on the big boys with an €8,000 purchase. There was no fluke about the way Law of Indices he knuckled down to see out that victory last time and this stable knows a good one when it arrives.

Salisbury 15:25 Duke of Hazzard

He has bumped into a couple of top-class performers the last twice in Space Blues and Mohaather and will appreciate getting back in among this class of opposition. The race should set up perfectly for Duke of Hazzard with a guaranteed pace to suit his hold-up style of racing. His excellent jockey David Probert can use that change of gear late on to maximum effect.

Curragh 15:40 Millisle

Jessica Harrington’s runner has taken a few starts to get back to her juvenile form and absolutely routed the opposition last time at this Group 3 level. This is just another confidence booster for Millisle as she gradually steps back up into Group One company in future. She looks to have most to fear from Speak in Colours who carries the 5lb penalty for his two victories.
