16:45 – Saint Doroux

Saint Doroux is a nice prospect and put in a strong performance at Gowran Park earlier this year to win a maiden hurdle. He followed that up by putting in a solid 3rd at the Cheltenham Festival. Didn’t have the best of times at Bellowstown earlier in the month, but will have cheekpieces on for the first time today.

17:15 – Braid Blue

Braid Blue is looking strong, despite having some time off. He won four in a row last summer, with three of those runs coming at Perth and the other at Ffos Las. Has had 279 days away from competitive racing, but will be fancied today after a solid 2nd at Cheltenham late last year.

17:45 – Galvin

Galvin looks strong after a nice win at Killarney just over three weeks ago. The 6yo finished runner-up in a novices’ handicap chase at the Cheltenham Festival prior to that, and had another 2nd place at Punchestown late last year.

18:15 – Acclamatio

Acclamatio put in a great showing at Bellowstown earlier this month, staying on fourth at a difficult Ballinrobe handicap hurdle. He then had a slightly weaker run at Leopardstown, finishing 7th of 17. The 6yo is well-fancied today due to his connections, and will have improved from his last two outings.

18:45 – Hunters Call

Hunters Call could end up being the surprise package today in a difficult field. Buildmeupbuttercup and Tudor City will be strong, but Hunters Call is on for a hat-trick. The 10yo had back-to-back wins at Ascot and Southwell, though he had more than two-and-a-half years out after the Ascot win.

19:15 – The Very Man

This 6yo is looking sensational recently. The Very Man has four wins on the bounce since March of this year, and is going for his fifth today. Stepping back up to the stiff 2m4f will suit him, and he’ll definitely be hard to beat especially in a slim field.

19:45 – Pass The Ball

Pass The Ball was sublime over hurdles back in 2018, and has been tipped to rediscover that form here. The 11yo proved he still has the ability when he finished 5th of 13 at Kilbeggan at the end of June. He’ll be back on his last winning hurdles mark and will appreciate a return to this longer trip.

20:15 – Smokey The Bandit

This 5yo cost €46,000 as a foal and then €160,000 as a 3yo, and clearly possesses an awful lot of potential. Smokey The Bandit has a lot of winners as half-brothers and sisters, and will be fancied despite only making his debut today.
