Horse racing tips: Our complete race-by-race guide to today’s Thirsk meeting

The Racing Post takes us through today’s card at Thirsk.

16:30 – Blind Beggar

Blind Beggar showed plenty of promise in his debut at York, finishing 4th of 11. The 2yo is a major player, and is entitled to improve from his first outing. He’ll face competition from Digital, who has back-to-back 2nd place finishes, but Blind Beggar should have enough about him to get the win.

17:00 – Our Little Pony

Our Little Pony returned last month after the best part of a year off, finishing 6th of 12 at Beverley. She followed that up with a 3rd of 7 at Doncaster earlier this month, and looks in a good position to go for the win today. She’s a three-time winner on good-to-firm ground, but both of her wins in 2019 came on soft, so she should be able to cope with any conditions.

17:30 – With Thanks

With Thanks put in a great showing on her debut back in November, winning at Newmarket. She ran down the Royal Ascot handicap runner-up Waliyak to get a win on her first outing. She looks set to give a good account of herself today.

18:00 – Admirality

Admirality has put in a string of solid runs recently, and has been out twice this month already. His last run came at York 10 days ago, as he finished 2nd at York over 7f. He’ll be 3lb lower than that run, and looks set to dominate the field today.

18:30 – Hayadh

Hayadh will be running off the same mark as when he won last year’s Thirsk Hunt Cup. He put in a great performance on his last run, having won at Beverley in June. Previous to that, he’d had 250 days off, and looks to have recovered from that break in excellent condition.

19:00 – Glen Force

Glen Force has been in brilliant form, and appears to be in prime condition to go for the win today. He’s never finished lower than 3rd, and has finished 2nd in his last two races. Will likely face competition from Wondrous Words, who finished 3rd of 10 at Haydock Park earlier this month.

19:30 – Polar Appeal

Polar Appeal, the half-brother to Patrick Sarsfield – the Irish Group 3 winner, had a great showing on his debut. He ran 4th of 15 at Newmarket and showed promise. He looks hard to beat, and shaped perfectly on his debut. If he can run like that, he could dominate.

20:00 – Chosen Star

Chosen Star will be making her handicap debut after quite a lengthy time on the sidelines. She’s been bred to be better than previously shown, and is well-fancied today. She hasn’t ridden since November of last year, when she finished 8th of 15, but should enjoy the good going.

20:30 – Kings Charisma

This 3yo has been in brilliant form recently, and is going for a hat-trick today. Kings Charisma has another 6lb rise to contend with, but shouldn’t face any problems, and might deal well with the extra 2f from his previous runs.
