Horse Racing Tips: Paddy Power’s 5 to thrive at Galway and Goodwood on Tuesday

Ruby Walsh and Paddy Desmond joined Paddy Power on a special From The Horse’s Mouth podcast to preview a bumper week of racing at Glorious Goodwood and the Summer Festival at Galway.

14:15 at Goodwood – Battleground

I think Battleground could be worth sticking with. He was a very good winner at the Chesham. Won very, very well. He’s going to be short enough here so you’re not going to be getting rich on it and it’s not the bravest tip ever, but I just thought he might step forward and the fact they’re heading over with him is potentially significant.

14:45 at Goodwood – Space Blues

I’m sticking with Space Blues, I just think he’s going the right way and seems to be improving every time so I’ll stick with him.

15:15 at Goodwood -Stradivarius

I’m going to keep up my form of going for favourites and Stradivarius. It’s such a naive and stupid thing to say, but there’s something deep down, when it comes to the top level, that weight doesn’t matter as much. I don’t know if that’s true but I think Stradivarius will do enough and find enough.

17:45 at Galway – Celestial Object

I’ll have Celestial Object and based on the draw rather than the allowances but draw 15 for Surrounding is no good so Celestial Object in draw five.

18:45 at Galway – Saltonstall

I’m going to stick with last year’s winner Saltonstall. I know the draw 12 isn’t amazing but the way he won last year, he came from right near the back, and won pretty well. I think the fact he’s shown that form makes him an exciting one to follow and I might just get myself involved.
