Jojo Rabbit was a C&D winner on his second run, and has two second-placed finishes. He’s been highly tried in his other raceds, including a fifth place at Sandown. Last week at Newbury he finished just behind the betting favourite and will do well from the inside stall today.
Bayar has shown a lot of promise in his three AW novice runs, and had a good showing at Lingfield Park last month. He had a disappointing outing at Windsor in late June, but didn’t cope well with the fast ground, and is more likely to enjoy the standard conditions today.
Baraajeel has spent a lot of time out of racing, and hasn’t competed since Wolverhampton in May of last year. He finished 5th of 7 on that occasion, and has since improved. He’s been gelded and has been fancied to give it a go today, though Sermon will provide tough competition for him.
Freedom Flyer made his debut last month, finishing 4th of 10 at Haydock Park. Will enjoy being on the better surface, as the good to soft ground at Haydock Park hampered his chances of gaining on the front three. Travelled well at Haydock Park and is well fancied to build on that showing today.
Critical Thinking is a five-time winner at Wolverhampton, and had a third-place finish earlier this month. The only issue could be the outside stall, but has a solid chance otherwise. He’s on a good mark and is liked today.
Chookie Dunedin likes it at Wolverhampton, and had three wins on the spin there over the turn of the year. His last three outings haven’t been great – two 10th place and one 6th place finish, but was only beaten by 3l at Ayr when he came in 6th. Should like today’s conditions more, however.
Alianne’s pedigree suggests she should enjoy the longer trip today, having struggled in recent races. Her last race at Wolverhampton saw her finish 5th of 11, but by no means was she disgraced, and she’s been tipped to suit today’s going much better. Improved significantly on her earlier performances.
Gold Standard’s consistency will likely be the key today. Finished in the top-three in all-but-one of her last six races, including a win earlier in the year at Wolverhampton. Followed that win up with a 5th place, but then went on an impressive run of 2nd and 3rd place finishes.
Anno Lucis will likely suit the extra distance today, having finished in 2nd in last month’s handicap/seasonal debut at Kempton Park. Will be wearing headgear today, he stayed on strongly in his most recent outing at Kempton Park, where he couldn’t quite find the pace and finished 6th of 12.
