13:50 Ascot – Naval Crown

NAVAL CROWN is still a maiden, but he ran very well when third on debut at Newmarket in what looked a strong race, which was run in a good time.

This looks a weak race for the grade and there’s a strong chance he can improve past those with more experience.

15:00 Ascot – Tsar

TSAR has been excellent on the clock on his last two starts and still looks much better than his mark of 94.

You can pick holes in nearly all of his opposition, and given connections, I believe he will be very difficult to beat at Ascot.

MEDIA STORM will get the benefit of a generous weight for age allowance here, which tends to be massively in the favour of three-year-olds at this time of year – particularly in staying handicaps.

On his most recent start at Kempton, he ran an excellent race. He was unsuited by how the race was run, before recording some very impressive sectionals to finish a close second – in a race that has already worked out.

Looks on a good mark.

14:05 York – Black Lotus

BLACK LOTUS shaped very well on her return in a strong race last time behind Monthatham (who has franked the form twice since). This race looks easier and the step up in trip should definitely suit.

There are a couple of very unexposed three-year-olds in this contest but Black Lotus looks the most solid option.

14:40 York – Telecaster

Elarqam is worth taking on at current prices after a poor run at Ascot with TELECASTER, who has looked back to his best this year after two starts and has the potential to be the best of these.

He’s got strong form from York last year, when beating Too Darn Hot and Japan in the Dante and looks likely to put in close to a career best today.

Lord Glitters was the other one of interest as an each-way punt. He has solid form at the track too and has been shaping as if a step up in trip will suit.
