Ventura Rebelhas not enjoyed the greatest of luck up ’til now, he should have won the Norfolk stakes at Royal Ascot last year but for a troubled passage. He ran well in the Commonwealth Cup over 6f and was keeping on at the finish there. He is a strong traveller and will get away with this 7f. I think he will pounce late and win.
I love a good sprint at York and watching these lot come hurtling down the track is a hell of a sight. I am going for one of the old timers in here with Danzenogetting the nod.
It’s hard to believe he has never won at York but he has run well here in the past. He had a nice warm up the other day and I think this is made for him.
The other one that will run well is Duke of Firenze. He has won here and ran a super race last time at Donny. He is weighted to run a big race but Danzeno is the number one!
Jovial represents Sir Michael Stoute and Ryan Moore, what’s not to like? A very nice run at Haydock last time sees this one as fav but the one I like is trained by Karl Burke.
Living in The Past won at York last year beating Liberty Beach, she was disappointing in the Breeders Cup but you can forgive any horse a poor run out there. She is great value especially at a each way price.
Let’s look at a couple of races over at Newbury which we’ll also be showing on ITV Racing.
Silent Echo is trained by Simon Hodgson now but used to run for Peter Hedger who I used to ride for. This lad has knocked on the door of lots of big races and wasn’t beaten far last time at Ascot.
This track will really suit and as he’s untouched by the handicapper after that eye-catching run last time he can collect here.
A few of these are on retrieving missions after disappointing. Fox Tal heads the market and will be happier on this drying ground, Prince Eiji ran well at Ascot in the Wolferton but the one I like in here is Pablo Escobarr.
This lad ran well in a messy race at Newmarket having been racing in Dubai. Some of his form reads really well and he is the one for me.
Good luck!
