However, the pick is TATSTHEWAYTODOIT, who bettered his low-key debut when second at Thirsk a fortnight ago.
12:45 Burtonwood
Most of these arrive on the back of a good run, including Quanah who made it 4-8 for Liam Bailey when scoring over C&D a fortnight ago.
However, BURTONWOOD has run well under Faye McManoman on the last couple of occasions and gets the nod ahead of Amazing Grazing, who reappeared with an encouraging second place at Musselburgh. Airglow and Astrophysics could also go well.
13:20 Twilight Prince
A fast finish from TWILIGHT PRINCE very nearly clinched a debut win at Redcar last month and he is taken to go one better today.
Exalted Leader was a promising fourth in the same race and is feared most, while Bergerac was third over C&D on his first start and is also open to improvement.
13:55 Dirchill @ 11/4
He needs to prove that his near 8-length win at Redcar wasn’t a one-off, but DIRCHILL (NAP) wasn’t obviously flattered by that result and he remains well handicapped on his old form.
He’s taken to defy a 10lb rise and follow up. Pearl Of Qatar is feared most in the expectation she can build on her fair reappearance fifth.
Canford’s Joy is another who can go well, while Ey Up Its Mick did it nicely at Haydock but may need soft/heavy ground if he’s to threaten after a 7lb rise.
14:25 Snookered
He may have been soundly beaten at Haydock 17 days ago but SNOOKERED possibly needed that first run since February and there’s plenty of mileage in his Flat mark judged on his improved hurdle form towards the end of last year.
He is preferred to Funny Man, who can build on his respectable reappearance fourth at Haydock, and Multellie who likes it here. Grandee and Heart Of Soul are others who could be in the mix.
14:55 Flying Moon
Mike Smith is in good form and FLYING MOON, who stayed on well for second over 8.3 furlongs here last time out, is taken to capitalise on the step back up in trip.
Smart Lass may have more improvement left in her and she could be the main danger. Convivial is another to consider along with Millie The Minx and Pammi.
15:25 Perfect Rose
The Mark Johnston-trained PERFECT ROSE raced freely out wide when back from more than a year off at Beverley last month, so that run can be excused, and this well-bred three-year-old has the potential to be a lot better than her current rating.
The other three-year-olds are also interesting candidates but the main danger to the selection may be Risaalaat, who can build on his encouraging fourth at Kempton.
15:55 Retirement Beckons
Quite a few have possibilities. Smeaton and Global Exceed are last-time-out winners who are high up the list, while RETIREMENT BECKONS would be very interesting if his reappearance run behind Smeaton has helped to put him straight.
Dark Devil and Bawaader are two more to consider.
