Epsom hosts The Oaks and The Derby today and Ruby joined the rest of Paddy’s panel on Friday to discuss the runners and riders for this weekend’s action.
Speaking on the From the Horse’s Mouth podcast, Ruby offered up a couple of each-way shouts for the Oaks and the Derby but couldn’t see past Love in the 15.40. Here’s Ruby’s picks for the big two and you can listen to the whole podcast below.
Bharani Star might be worth a look for an each way shout after the performance at Ascot but I think Love, with her pedigree, Fleeting and Peach Tree in there, she looks like she’ll stay, I think she’ll be hard to beat.
On the proof we have, Mogul hasn’t got it. Kameko may or may not stay. English King is favourite… he beat Berkshire Rocco who beat Santiago in Ascot so that form is rock solid. But, the more I look at it and the more I look at the price, I actually fancy Mohican Heights each way.
He won a maiden on his first start for Fozzy Stack at Leopardstown, he then won at Salisbury, he was third behind Pyledriver and just in front of Mogul in Ascot. I think he followed Mogul that day and got a little out of place.
I think at his odds, he’s a big each way runner. Paddy’s tip, Vatican City, unfortunately he’s from the Gleneagles and Happily and Marvellous family and you have to wonder whether he’ll stay or not.
