Adam Killeen – 18:05 Doncaster – Cmon Cmon
Nigel Tinkler has an excellent record with his three-year-old handicappers and Cmon Cmon looks likely to be another success story for the yard.
He came 6th on his latest start at Windsor but that doesn’t tell the whole story as he was denied a clear run and shaped very well. I would expect him to improve for having a run and that should be enough to get involved in the finish here.
Ryan McCuev – 17.45 Cork – The Names Jock
A very competitive renewal of the Cork Derby with The Names Jock catching the eye down the bottom of the weights with apprentice Nathan Crosse taking off a further 5lbs.
He had a nice run in Gowran under 3 weeks ago, presumably with this in mind when running on well to finish 6th. His win before that run in May last year worked out well as he beat Fujimoto Flyer easily so I’m hoping his mark of 78 is workable.
International Naps
Sean O’ Sullivan – 14:10 Chantilly – Pao Alto
The race revolves around Victor Ludurom who bids to secure the Guineas Derby double but he’s been dealt a tricky draw in one here in a big field with the likely hold up tactics he’ll get.
Pao Alto seems to be a forgotten horse of the race. He’s a winner of his trial in emphatic fashion and he had the re-opposing Ocean Atlantique behind that day. While Ocean Atlantique didn’t get the best of runs, Pao showed a remarkable turn of foot to put the race away in a matter of strides.
From a decent draw I think he ll uphold that form and take a lot of beating.
Donal McKenna – 14.10 Chantilly – Victor Ludorum
Victor Ludorum is looking to be the real winner of the game and do the Poulains, Jockey Club double, last done by Brametot in 2017.
Noticeably, trainer Andre Fabre has always had this race as Victor Ludorum’s main target and, after just coming up short with Persian King last year, the little general knows exactly what it takes if he is to win his 5th Jockey club.
He hit the line running when dominating the French Guineas a few weeks ago and has always looked tactically versatile. Being drawn in stall one is a big advantage to Mickael Barzalona and should aid him avoiding trouble in a race that usually has over 2.5 in running hard luck stories.
