A weak maiden hurdle with seemingly plenty of dead wood. The only runner with a three-figure rating, Aprils Joy warrants respect, having had a pipe-opener on the flat recently.
Little Lady Lu has some solid form in low-grade maidens and should be thereabouts, while Henry de Bromhead’s two runners, Abbi Shore and The Three Wizards have to be respected.
However, it may be worth taking a chance on CHAMPAGNE DIVA, now back on better ground and with cheekpieces on a track her trainer does well at.
17:10 Enjoy D’Allen
Another maiden which won’t take much winning. Henry de Bromhead again fields two, of which Somptueux appears the pick, though preference is for Peter Fahey’s ENJOY D’ALLEN. He ran well in handicap company when last seen and will appreciate further rain.
17:40 Friary Gold
There was enough in FRIARY GOLD‘s (NAP) Limerick run to suggest he will be winning sooner rather than later, and this looks a good opportunity for him. Hopefully will be suited by dropping into handicap company while Rathnaleen Tou and Grey Girly have a squeak.
18:15 Do Ya Feel Lucky @ 13/2
Imperial Choice was a bitter disappointment when favourite on her return to action last Monday, no excuses forthcoming. While it would be no surprise to see her bounce back here, more value may be had in DO YA FEEL LUCKY.
She is dropping in grade here and getting her favoured ground, providing there is not significant rain.
Others to consider include Blackyellowred and Mr Moondance, while Cornerkova is a potential improver.
18:45 Dawson’s Cottage
Iamastartoo proved a consistent performer at this level last season although not especially progressive and there may be more improvement in DAWSON’S COTTAGE, who struggled in heavy ground when last seen and who will appreciate this better ground.
Fight For Love is another to consider, while Hewick comes from a stable in form and warrants respect.
19:15 Rock Road
Willie Mullins could extract any amount of improvement out of ROCK ROAD, and if that is the case, he could hold more proven types Visioman and A Place Apart.
19:45 Shes Flat Tothemat
A weak race with top-weight SHES FLAT TOTHEMAT an obvious starting point, with Thisonesforollie and Shanklys Dawn somewhat interesting as well.
20:15 Erica’s Joy
Nothing original about putting forward a Willie Mullins-trained runner in the bumper, but it’s safe to assume ERICA’S JOY will go close on her debut – while Boy Blue and Gurtnakisteen are other newcomers to watch.
Western Run and Wings Of Destiny have experience and should make a race of it.
