17:00 Thenextbestthing
THENEXTBESTTHING may have needed his comeback run here late last month and if he does improve then the four-year-old could take plenty of stopping today. Others to note are Jaxon’s Goldie and Maquiavelo.
17:30 Son Of A Beast
Todd Pletcher is more than capable of readying a newcomer and his SON OF A BEAST is the marginal pick in this open contest. The shortlist is completed by Tiger and Canyouhearmenow.
18:02 Drop Kick
Dizzy Gillespie and Crea’s Bklyn Law both merit plenty of respect but the vote goes to the dual course winner DROP KICK, after his victory over C&D late last month.
18:34 Machiavelli
Sovereign Warrior and Joyful Heart both got on the scoresheet last time and could easily be on the premises once again. However, preference is for Mark Casse’s MACHIAVELLI, who rattled the crossbar when beaten a neck last month and looks ready to pick up some compensation. The handy Gins And Tins was third on that occasion and also respected in this competitive heat.
19:05 By His Grace
Chad Brown saddles an interesting looking newcomer in Baseline Drive, but this could go to those with experience and BY HIS GRACE makes most appeal having rattled the crossbar the last twice. Awesome Ella also went close on her recent reappearance and is considered, with Raspberry Ballet and Mo Of The West also respected.
19:37 Desert General
DESERT GENERAL‘s consistency can come to the fore here and the seven-year-old can land the victory his recent form deserves. Baseline knows what it takes to get on the scoresheet and will have appreciated his recent reappearance, while Two Step Slew and Millionaire Runner are respected having finished second and third respectively here earlier this month.
20:09 Patriot Drive
PATRIOT DRIVE ran well when second over C&D earlier in the month and the six-year-old gets the vote to one better this time around. Tropicat and Bourbon In May appear the most likely to serve it up to the selection.
20:41 Mintz
MINTZ can take advantage of a drop in class having run well when last seen at the course in February. The main dangers are likely to be Korczak and Three Deep.
21:13 Sugar Bolt
SUGAR BOLT arrives having shaped well on her first outing of the season over C&D and the filly could prove a tough nut to crack. True Heiress and Hera complete the shortlist.
21:45 First in Line
FIRST IN LINE has stepped forward with each outing to date and the gelding is capable of gaining his first career victory. Mountain Breeze and Sweet Giant appear best of the remainder.
