Horse racing tips: Timeform’s 3 best bets at Lingfield on Friday

16:25 Lingfield – Equally Fast (Each-Way)

EQUALLY FAST is a real course specialist, making it four wins from four starts over this course and distance on his return from four months off 12 days ago.

Equally Fast tanked through the race, produced to lead inside the final furlong (briefly short of room) and was just nursed home to victory with a slipping saddle.

He won with a bit in hand on that occasion, and though a 4lb penalty demands more, Equally Fast was rated higher in the past, and could have more to offer.

17:35 Lingfield – Intrepid Italian (NAP)

INTREPID ITALIAN has shown some promise in two previous starts, but he was a much-improved model on handicap debut over this course and distance last week, rewarding strong support with an authoritative win.

He travelled well throughout and had to wait for a gap in the straight. But, the style in which he quickened inside the final furlong marks him down as a horse to keep on the right side.

Intrepid Italian has more improvement in him, and he is well treated turned out under a 6lb penalty.

18:35 Lingfield – Byzantia (Next Best)

An interesting minor event with several to consider, but it is BYZANTIA who makes the most appeal.

She made her debut in May last year and offered something to work on without being seen to best effect, making her effort over two furlongs out but running out of room on the inner in the business end of the race.

Byzantia has a wonderful pedigree, hails from a yard in cracking form and should have plenty more to offer this season.
