Horse racing tips: The best bet for every Limerick race on Wednesday

The Racing Post's picks for all seven races at the Irish track.

Horse Racing

Limerick 16:20 – Eden Quay

EDEN QUAY, a sister to a top-class sprinter, ought to have the winning of this, having had excuses on her return. Perhaps Nawafeth can do next best.

Limerick 16:55 – Stalingrad

An ordinary maiden by any account and possibly open to a newcomer such as the well-bred STALINGRAD, whose dam won at Group level over this trip. War Leader should appreciate this ground even though his best juvenile run was on soft, and he is blinkered first time, while Principalship has plenty of experience and seems certain to be thereabouts.

Limerick 17:30 – Funny Little Ways

Tack issues prevented FUNNY LITTLE WAYS from running any sort of race at Leopardstown last week so a line can be drawn through that and she is worth another chance, having looked a progressive filly when scoring easily at Dundalk previously.

Slade Runner will be an interesting rival if turning out again for the third time in eight days, having been taken off his feet early when a never nearer fourth at Fairyhouse on Monday as the well-backed favourite.

Limerick 18:05 – San Andreas

A tidy little contest which could provide an opportunity for SAN ANDREAS to resume winning ways and confirm Dundalk form with Laugh A Minute and No Needs Never. A bigger threat could come from Woody Creek.

Limerick 18:35 – Global Pass

A fast-finishing third at Leopardstown last week from a bad draw, GLOBAL PASS may now register an overdue first success from a more favourable draw. Mulzamm needed every yard of 7f to get up at Gowran last week and rates a big threat now over the extra furlong. Reddiac was another to take the eye at Leopardstown and would be a major fancy but for a high draw.

Cliff House and Brian O'Connell beating Maguire's Glen (David Mullins) to win "The Book On-Line Handicap Hurdle" at Limerick - Alain Barr - 29.03.2015

Limerick 19:05 – Simsir

An interesting race in which SIMSIR (NAP) can take another step forward now upped in distance, a trip over which Pondus has yet to prove himself over. Oriental Eagle holds the highest rating of the five runners but his capitulation at Leopardstown on Sunday doesn’t augur well. Bigger threats could come from the solid Bold Approach and the least experienced in the field Long Arm, who could well be up to this step up in grade.

Limerick 19:35 – Lancastria

A maiden with a strong National Hunt representation, understandably, with the jumps resuming next week. Charles Byrnes had a beaten favourite in a similar race at Fairyhouse on Monday and has the most likely type here in Ladbrokes Hurdle winner Thosedaysaregone, but it may pay to stick with proven flat form, notably Rayounpour and LANCASTRIA, the latter possibly having that bit more scope for improvement at this trip.
