Horse Racing tips: Matt Chapman’s regal punts for Royal Ascot on Tuesday

I’m giddy for Royal Ascot to start.

It’s going to be different, but an extended Covid-19 Royal Ascot gets underway Tuesday and I’m primed here at Paddy Power News to try and find you as many winners as I can over five days of coverage on ITV and Sky Sports Racing.

Let’s just get straight to it people!

13:15 Kaeso @ 6/1

For the first time Tuesday kicks off with a 7-furlong handicap. Daarik will be a strong order here after a recent win on the all-weather, but I will have a few quid each-way on KAESO who just loves these types of events and gets Oisin Murphy on board for Nigel Tinkler.

He had a prep race at Newcastle the other day when down the field, but his second in the International Stakes is very useful form.

13:50 Mohaather

The big stuff starts with the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes over a mile. Many will fancy Circus Maximus here, as the St James’s Palace Stakes winner tries to land a top straight mile.

I have to take him on though and will risk MOHAATHER each-way at a big price. He might prove better at 6 furlongs later in the season, but I have a feeling he’s going to be very good for Marcus Tregoning at some point this term. He looked special in the 2019 QEII.

14:25 Frankly Darling

After the Queen Anne comes the Group 2 Ribblesdale over nearly 1m 4f for three-year-old fillies. Frankly Darling is the one to beat – especially with Born with Pride ruled out of this contest.

I have to side with the favourite FRANKLY DARLING, who impressed so many at Newcastle first time. John Gosden has a great record in the race and she should take some stopping under Frankie Dettori.

15:00 Mogul @ 8/11

From Oaks hopes to Derby contenders in the Group 2 King Edward VII again over nearly 1m 4f. MOGUL has to be the selection here, for the legend that is Aidan O’Brien.

The Vertem Futurity fourth should relish this trip and that Newcastle form has already been boosted by Kameko landing the 2000 Guineas.

15:35 Battaash

From Classic ‘trials’ to the best sprinters, and the Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes over 5 furlongs. Obviously I have to be with BATTAASH, who is the best sprinter in the world when he brings his ‘A’ game and who can win at Ascot on the Royal Ascot stage for the first time.

He was second in this for Charlie Hills last year and at his best will destroy them. The only slight issue is he does not always run to his best!

16:10 Jubiloso

Back to Group 2 class next with the Duke of Cambridge over 1m. Nazeef is on a roll but I’ll back JUBILOSO each-way for Sir Michael Stoute and Ryan Moore. She was third in the Coronation Stakes in 2019 and that might be good enough to land this contest.

16:40 Dubawi Fifty

And finally on Day 1, the Ascot Stakes over nearly 2m 4f. It’s DUBAWI FIFTY each-way for me for Karen McLintock and Adam Kirby. The 2018 runner-up is back on a mark to perform with aplomb once again.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas! You hear me Paddy?
