GET SMOKIN has made the frame in three $100k events so far this year and will find this slightly less competitive. He can take advantage, possibly at the chief expense of Maxwell Esquire, who has also kept stronger company. Domestic Spending made a successful start to his career at Tampa and is feared too.
19:23 Tayler’s The Boss @ 9/1
Since fighting off subsequent winner Camorra at Aqueduct in December, TAYLER’S THE BOSS has kept much stronger company and can show her appreciation for the drop from an allowance race by taking this. Volodina bounced back to form at Parx, while Zecha could also make an impact.
19:55 Choose Happiness
Dancing Slippers, Kilkea and Beyond Brown all occupied the runner-up berth on their latest outings, while Pandamom was a place behind the latter at Aqueduct. CHOOSE HAPPINESS made some good late headway on debut over 6 furlongs there and can make it second-time lucky over this more suitable trip.
20:27 Microsecond
River Nile and Pacific Jazz have been showing up well in the mornings so cannot be ruled out, but MICROSECOND got within a head of success on debut and any improvement on that effort will see Todd Pletcher’s gelding land the spoils. Emcee Prime appears on the upgrade and is another to note.
20:59 Lake Chicot
Jen’s Battle bolted up at Aqueduct when last seen and has strong claims if returning in the same form, but LAKE CHICOT ran a solid race over this trip on the main track at Aqueduct last time and as he won on a synthetic surface at Woodbine, so he could handle the switch to turf. Dixie Mo won well at Gulfstream latest and is interesting for Wesley Ward.
21:32 Giant Shoes
GIANT SHOES put in a respectable effort in a more valuable contest at Aqueduct last time and is he proves as effective on turf, he could be hard to beat. Jack The Cat is proven on the grass and could go well up in grade, while Jimmy Jazz could be the pick of the remainder.
22:04 Zoomer
ZOOMER has impressively notched a Parx double and he might be able to complete the hat-trick. Other last-start scorers Summer Bourbon, Torch Of Truth and Thousand Percent also warrant respect. However, the bigger danger might be Mr. Dougie Fresh, who drops down from Grade 3 level.
23:08 Amazing Ride
AMAZING RIDE was turned over at odds-on at Aqueduct when last seen, but the $525,000 yearling must have been showing plenty and is worth another chance. Nic And Zoe and Jasminesque have shown enough to warrant an interest, with Osage Treaty and Lemon Crinkle the most appealing newcomers.
